Any players out there? I just recently started getting into this game and it is pretty cool. I recently sat at a $1.00/$2.00 pokerstars table because the .50/1.00 tables were full and I made 40.00 in less than 10 minutes and promptly left on my first losing hand. Interesting game - any thoughts/comments on this game?

I do enjoy good 5 card draw games.
They were like stud the rage when I started playing cards back in the day.
I must say I enjoy the single draw versions better than the tripple draw.
But yes I do enjoy the 5 card draw games they are very fun.
But like stud can get pricey depending on your level of play.

Triple draw can get a little expensive at the ring tables. You may have had a bit of beginner's luck but hope you do continue to do well.

I prefer the 2-7 NL single draw. However, there are no micro tables, so you do need a bit of a bankroll to play it. I'd suggest, strongly, that you get your feet wet at the play money tables. And then try one of the play money tourneys. Like any game, play money brings out the donks, but if you can prevail at play money, and get a real handle on the game, you are taking less of a risk at the RM tables and tourneys.

As in any game, tight aggressive play is best.

Before losing yr 40 bucks back, and more, take a look at Kid Poker's excellent chapter on this game in Super System II. It might save you a lot of grief. :deal:

I have only been playing this game about six months and I must say I quite enjoy it very much. I only play small tourneys or mixed games, no cash games yet. It's a pleasant change of pace from NL Holdem.

Also not played either for real cash (except for 1 low buy-in at PS), but love the game, usually do well, and I probably should start. Single draw is quite different from triple draw. Few seem to master either, not both. Just that most people's experience in triple draw comes from the 8-game. I'd be wary of single draw for real cash until I had a good handle. (meaning that those playing it might be more specialized at it than triple-draw).
