Basically wondering where i am with regards to flipping my play over to real life:

about 1.5k hands in i decide to buy a pack of coins
270k of which..

reading plenty of books, watched the final table of 2009 through 2012 wsop
read through hundreds of articles
watched literally hours of poker strategies, reads etc..

after about 6.2k hands and 2 months i've turned my bankroll from
270k to 9.5 million, not using the reel or sent chips

winning about 8/10 of every tourney

I KNOW THIS DOESN'T COMPARE TO REAL $$

but is there any indication i'm doing something right, or can you say they're all fish?

Please remember i'm 17, 18 in 2 months, not looking to get any fake I.D

Previous post was put into the wrong thread

I do understand the stigma of ZYNGA haha i'm not in anyway expecting anything like this in real money games.

Best advice I could give you is stop playing Zynga right now. Spend the next 2 months reading everything you can here and other forums about actual poker. Pray that it erases all the bad habits you've built playing Zynga. When you turn 18 and deposit, start at micro stakes (you'll likely be able to beat them with a little practice), build your BR, and go from there.

Yeah, it's really hard to translate play money achievements to real money. Play money is useful for familiarizing yourself with the basic mechanisms of the game, but I'd encourage you to start at the smallest stakes of real money tables as soon as you can. Then revisit the play money tables in three months' time, and you'll realize how truly atrocious the play there is (and also how much you've improved, just by contending with real money players). This is speaking from experience.

Zynga is not poker....AT ALL. Its blackjack with poker rules, it really has nothing to do with poker. Just learn the proper game and take time. Forget everything you think you have learnt from zynga besides Aces will get cracked from time to time.

Yea i mean its exponentially different i did the SAME exact thing when i was 17 ran up a huge bankroll in play money thinking i was gunna go kill the real money tables.. and then i got to the real money tables and realized what real poker actually is like... id say it gives u head start on someone whos never played poker at all before but not much edge other than that.. read up on as much info as u can and watch as many training videos u can

Thanks, really appreciate all the advice, I'll be starting at micro stakes 9man tournaments when I turn 18, hope to be hearing a lot from you guys in future months! Meanwhile, getting my head stuck in some books!

Good luck man, im mainly cash game player but I began playing 9 man SNG on stars. I liked it a lot and made a steady profit though i got bored of it quite quickly and changed to cash! I found it a much better game but keep to what you feel comfortable with! I just found cash to be a good learning curve for my game!

zynga is not even close to real money Poker. If I bet $100.. there is not one person on Zynga is afraid of losing that $100 cause it dont mean anything. In real life.. $100 for most people means a lot. and they wont risk it unless they think they can win the hand.
I have experience on both. I have played both platforms. I usually play Zynga if I cant play online.. so usually when I am out to eat on my ipad.

You eat on your iPad? Wow...... :)

Oh, and the only place I've found worth messing around with play money is pokerstars.
Even then, it is not really poker.....

The only thing you can learn from play money are the rules of the game - things like what beats what etc.

It can't teach you how to be a good poker player at all.

You will need to start from scratch at the micros like WVH suggested and keep up your reading.

I think its good for seeing cards and trying to think what are all the possible hands that could be made from a board. The betting is crap and can be ignored.

I have never tried Zynga but I would recomend opening an account on a real poker site. Prob the one you want to eventually deposit on and play the free money there.

I agree with what the others have said. Play money poker on thr iphone is not poker. There is no value to the play money. Real money is going to be a completely different game.

Start with micros and study.
