I'm playing on stars, my goal is to grow 10 dollars into a decent sized bankroll. Any suggestions on what i should play to get it up there? I was thinking maybe the 1 dollar double or nothings, but the 0.01-0.02 games might also be pretty easy to beat if i have patience. Just looking for some input.

What is a 'decent sized bankroll'? to you ?? $50, $100, $1,000 ???

How long are you willing to take to get there ???

The double or nothings? Pretty risky, IMO. You have 9 buy-ins. You have to win 2 out of 3 to stay ahead of the rake. After playing 9, you have $9.90 invested. 5 wins - 50% ITM - returns $10. A $.10 profit for 9 games. 6 of 9 wins (66% ITM) returns $12 for $9.90. If you think you can make it 8 of 9 consistently, go for it.

$10 on a 2nl gives you 5 - 100BB buy-ins. Everybody with $.20 or more is grabbing seats to strike it rich. Maniac Donkville and Sukout City. You're going in with 20% of your roll with each buy-in.

Sure, maybe you're good, AND lucky, and you can build it up. But micro stakes is not poker in it's finest hours.

If you're exclusively a NL player, micro nl is your most likely option unless you have some success at MTT's. Stars has the dimers, 25c and 50c MTT's with no rake and some with money added to the pool.

GL with your decision.

If i got it up to 50 i would have some room to work with and i could play some 2-5 dollar sitngos. I also have like 240 fpp, in case any one knows the best way to turn those into something.

Just play 2NL 100BB deep, you'll be at $30 after day 1.

$2NL is pretty much the only game worth playing with a 10$ roll.

It all depends on how patient you are. Do you like the limit or NL limt game? A $ 10.00 bankroll will play very well in the limit 01.-02 micro until you get it up to about $ 12.00. Also try some NL freerolls. Protecting your bankroll and being patient is a must in this game.

The 10FPP MTT's have a $500 prize pool and there is also a 50FPP MTT on weekends - Saturdays I think. The 10FPP's run several times daily.

The Stars FR's are OK for adding to a BR, but you have to break into the ticket range to get a shot at the Round 2's. Not all that difficult, but their FR's don't pay in cash on the first go-arounds.

I too would grind it out on limit games for a while, but there are a lot of players who only opt for the nl games.

Limit games are where you should try to build such a small BR.
My reason behind this: you will never be in position to risk your whole stack at a limit table, but the only downfall to that is sometimes your premium hands won't get paid as much as they would if you had been playing at a no limit table

ps. i also found micro .02/.04 or .05/.10 omaha hi/lo limit to be a good bankroll builder if u like omaha hi/lo.

Why grinding limit game is better then grinding nl ?

I also have like 240 fpp, in case any one knows the best way to turn those into something.

Play the 70 FPP SNGs into the Sunday $250K. You win it and withdrawl, you'll get $11 Tournament $ that you can use in 2 $5.50 SNGs, or 1 $11 SNG. Cash in that and you are in good shape.

Aren't there like 200 fpp tournaments that pay out 11 T$ if you get top 6 or something? I'd try that first if that is the case which gives you more to work with.

Depends how patient you are and how much starting a roll means to you. If it means alot then you probably have to do something like mass mass mass multitable the 10c-50c tournaments with no rake. Could play $1 sngs, but tbh with the double rake they charge on those you are probably better off playing $2 sngs as soon as you can and just hoping you don't go broke. Much better off playing $2 sngs than 0.01/0.02 cash imo.

I agree with nevadanick- play the $0.10/$0.25 cash added mtts and you should be able to build a bankroll, (or the big micro sngs), then once up to say $30-$40 play the $1.10 turbo sngs (45 players)

Wouldnt bother with the freerolls- they're a waste of time imho

For the fpps the 10fpp mtts ok, but I'd play the sunday $2k (50fpps)

I turned $50 into $289 over 2 months recently playing 500 $1.10 45 player sngs so it is possible, but takes a lot of patience, anger management and concentration! (havent used any of the fpps yet)- was down to $31 after a week, so not all plain sailing...

GL whatever you decide

20 player 210fpp....top 6 get paid 11T$...pretty easy to cash if you are patient.

I won $7.00 on sportbook a couple days ago. I have double it in the last two days playing here and there at their .02 .04 sng. I'm just being patient right now and still playing all the free rolls I can like always. Try a couple small buy in tournaments if you feel your good enough to place in the winnings. I did decide to bump it up a notch and play a $1.00 buy in tourney and lucky placed far enough to win my $1.00 and another $1.15 back. Stick to what you can handle for now. I'll be at the smaller tables for a while. No need to hurry and make mistakes. Theres more to learn then meets the eye.

the 0.02-0.04 limit games are very easy to beat, i had .27 cents at pokerstars i won from some juno invitational freerolls, and now i have $2.50, ill just build my bankroll there slowly, although i don't play at pokerstars very often.

Don't waste your time with those Weekly Round 2 freerolls. Play some dimers and, when you build your points up, play the 10fpp mtt. Outside of that, multi table some low buy in 9 mans.

.10 360 mans..

Also PokerStars has recently opened up two .25 tournaments, a 90 man and a 45 man. I think that those are your best options giving the circumstances.

Where do you have the best skills? What game(s) do you like playing the most? These are questions you have to ask yourself.

I would stay away from the CASH RINGS at PokerStars, they aren't so good... and that those low levels, you run into a lot of donkeys... that will call with almost anything... i've seen a lot of bad beats... so you don't want to risk going all in with AA and getting cracked by 7 8...

your best bet, is to do the $1 tournaments... you have to figure out, how big of a tournament you can handle... you might want to start with the 45 sit and go... then work your way up.

Good Luck at the Tables
