Would like some opinions on this situation
Firstly, thanks to those who have helped in other threads.
Ok so heres the situation, full ring game, few hands in i get AKd on the botton, great, one guy bets in early/mid position, 3 times the blind, i decide against a raise, and underep my hand with a smooth call. I have played him a couple times before and i feel like it's a good spot for a trap. This brings the big blind in also. See a flop, comes up Ac,6d,10d, goes without saying, a great flop, top pair, top kicker, flush draw, even a royal flush is possible. I dont know anything about the player on the big blind. I decide that if i check im probably only going to get a turn bet from the player to my right. I decide to bet, but just under 2/3 of the pot, i feel this could look like a scared, weak bet and the aggressive player might actually float. That doesnt happen, as he folds, but the big blind calls. At this point i really dont know what im up against, i figure it could be a couple things, firstly, they have a weaker diamond draw, as i have made it cheap enough. Secondly, im behind to trip 10's or 6's. Thirdly they have a weaker ace, maybe A-Q. The last hand im thinking of is A-10, so again id be drawing. Turn comes a blank, i again get a check, that makes sense with all the hands i have in my head. I decide to continue betting, even if im behind, if i hit my draw i could get paid big. I bet just over 2/3 of the pot. I get smooth called again, now im leaning towards a trap, i put them on trip 10's. The river is another blank, so i miss my diamond draw, however i get another check. Im confused by this, i dont feel like they would have called the turn bet with the diamond draw, so im feeling like it's one of 4 hands, they are traping with 10,10 / 6,6 / A,10 or they have A-Q. I decide to check it back, they have A-8 and i take it down.
Am i right to check the river?
