bankroll management

lulz, thats an understatement:)

I'm the same way though but I see it as a deterent. Its kept me from moving up when I should have. Im only at 10nl and should be higher. I basically have 3 x the BR needed for it.

I think my best asset would also be adjusting to what game Im playing in. I have no problem playing really loose to really tight.

Depends on the limits I guess. At the micros where I am, I would say it's do not tilt and do rarely think beyond level 2 or 3 or you will outplay yourself.

look at it this way; there are lots of players who can outplay me but many of them go busto while I just keep plugging along.

Dear Father and Mother.
July is the month I remember which brings...
not only your wedding anniversary...
but also Father's Day and Mother's birthday.
I'm sorry I can't remember the exact dates...
but I hope this card will take care of them all.
I'm sorry again I cannot send you my address...
Like I promised to last year.
But the sensitive nature of my work for the government...
demands utmost secrecy.
I know you will understand.
I am healthy and well, and making lots of money.
I have been going with a girl for several months...
and I know you would be proud if you could see her.
Here name is Betsy, but I can tell you no more than that.
I hope this card finds you all well as if does me.
I hope no one has died. Don't worry about me.
One day there'll be a knock on the door, and it'll be me.
Love, Travis.

My biggest strength is that I don't let bad beats tilt me. I get the mathematics of it and I really do understand that a true bad beat is a good thing because it means I'm getting my cards in good and will win in the long run.

I'm also pretty good at BRM so I've got that going for me. On the other hand I don't have WVHillbilly's eyes so I guess I'm just doomed to a life of quiet desperation. Oh well.

ill elaborate before i get banished from CC, many cash players call even when they know theyre beat, i still do it from time to time but people at my microstakes anyways dont bluff as much as you think they will, And it comes hand in hand with another thing i think is essential for playing cash games that i could improve on still... Patience.

Well when you put it that way it is completely true.

Not thinking of the chips as part of the bank roll, just chips to play poker with. I find that decisions unaffected by finacial pressures are always better.

My best asset is definitely emotional control and lack of ego. I tend to not think I'm very good at the game and I'm very objective about my faults. This tenancy actually helps me to realise when I'm making mistakes that I've noticed some of my friends don't seem so able to do.

But tilt control is no.1. If you tilt too much it doesn't matter how good you are. You'll lose.

Patience to wait around long enough to get that one big hand, even on days when I can't hit water if I fell out of a boat...most players eventually start playing everything in hopes to catch a miracle flop but I have no problem sitting there for 2-3 hours waiting...also folding big pairs, I can lay down Jacks/Queens pre flop and Aces or Kings post flop if its obvious I'm dead in the water.

Something I have improved over the last year is playing my opponents hand, not just my hand. Considering making some unusual moves, not just the standard usual moves. Alot of the time this requires considering my steal equity and not just my showdown equity.

Don't play against your opponents hand, play against their range and tendencies.
