my roi in $1-$2 sng and mtts is pretty good at 18% with profit, but i'm a losing 4nl player. i'm also a winning $1/2-3 live cash game player. at 4nl, i usually buy in for 1.60 or so...not max because i'm not confident. i usually survive for an hour or so with the usual swings and play tight/slightly aggressive. i usually double within the hour and eventually lose it all. i've noticed that at 4nl, there are players who call with terrible hands and suckout when i have the best hand. i've stayed away from the cash game since i've come to the realization that i need to learn more.

what am i doing wrong?

Hard to say without specific #'s. You have tracker stats? A common leak I see from tournament players coming to cash is overvaluing top pair holdings. Pushing them too hard and sticking with them too far.

I'd review how those hands are playing out for you. If you could post some hand histories of yrou larger pots that could help too

SNG/MTT are quite different games from cash. I will recommend you to read some cash table books so as to beat the micro level.

I would highly recommend buying in for the full amount in any cash game you play because when you buy in so short you are limiting the amount of money you can make.

Read Blackrain79's crushing the microstakes and thank him later.
