Why so much love for 6 max tables?

I have come to hate the fact that the site I play on only has a couple of full ring tables going on at the stakes I play and there are times where there is not a single table. I have found full ring games to be the real multi table game.

With 6 max all it takes is 2 people to sit out and suddenly it becomes a completely different game which requires a lot of attention or else you will be losing blinds left and right.

If 2 people sit out in a full ring game it doesn't really change much. And unsurprisingly I am pretty much always making money on full ring tables. I looked up PS and there they have almost infinite amounts of full ring tables going on.

I only lasted about 1k hands of full ring before I moved to 6-max, and ive never been back. I just found it too slow-paced. I believe you improve a lot quicker if you play 6-max too, as you're put in tough spots and ranges are much wider.

It is annoying when 2 people sit out though. Nothing wrong with full ring, especially if you're winning!

I find 6 max micro stakes much more easy to make profits on because so many people play them identical to full ring, which therefore is much too passive. Players at stakes like 25/50 raise with a tighter range than they should and defend from the blinds/button not enough, so it's easier to win pots just by being aggro.
At stakes like 1/2 I simply prefer it due to the speed of the table and the amount of hands I can play because of wider ranges, it makes poker so much more enjoyable IMO

6-max > Full Ring imo

Full Ring is much more mechanical and people will be looking for good hands and good spots, whereas in 6-max you have to play wider ranges with far more aggression, especially when it comes to blind stealing and defending. But in general, those two are entirely different and require different sets of skills.

I have played thousands of both 6 max and 9 player tables, and i don't see much difference in the way players choose hands, blind stealing or anything else. The difference is you are not up against 3-4 players in a 6 player table, making it less likely to be drawn out on, as compared to the 9-10 player tables. At 6 player tables, there will be one or maybe two players come in on average, and when they play you pretty much know they aren't in on a hand like 2-7 off suit.In 9-10 player tables, the hand ranges vary wildly, with the possibility of one or two being clueless and betting and raising with any two cards, and sucking out on a good player time after time. Playing against 1 player is much preferred over going up against 4-5 players, those pocket aces your holding shrivel up considerably post flop against 3-5 players, but are good holdings against 1 player.

6 max games are much better for me also, I can keep my focus better with the faster pace and less people to read gives me an advantage. I enjoy 4 max and HU allthough the rake and blinds eat up your profits quicker.

6 max is much more exciting than a full ring because you dont have to wait so much time in order to play a hand, and you can get involved in more hands than a full ring table making the game more faster and dynamic.

Sites will always push 6max more. More hands per hour means more money they collect simple.

Also means the faster you win or lose as a poker player... So it's good if your winning but if your a losing player you'll find out a lot sooner than full-ring.

I don't play 6max and fullring all that different really, just people seem to be more willing to throw money out there :) where fullring people tend to be on the more conservative side.

Full ring is full of nits. The action moves a lot slower and players literally play like 10% of hands. You can't get away with that in 6 max. There is more action, more interesting spots, it isn't just waiting for aces or kings, or hoping to hit a set against the player with aces or kings.

From what I have played there are still plenty of fish in full ring and what makes it easier to get money from them is that you only have to play strong hands.

And I understand everything what people are saying here I have no issues playing even heads up poker as long as I am playing only 2 tables. The thing is its really difficult to play a loose game when playing on 4 or more tables.

I have played a very lose game and also a very tight game. The variance is far higher with a loose game and it can be difficult to tackle mentally.
