Hey everyone. I just a had thought, that was kind of reassuring but instantly annoying at the same time!

For lots of year probabally six I've tried to be a winning player but because of really bad discipline just keep failing. Played live and online, have had 2k profit in a live game once, have had couple hundred dollars online, but always lose it because of poor bankroll management and lack of discipline with tilt etc.

I'm not stupid, but I do just find it impossible to become a winning player. I'll spew my bankroll away then say right next time i'm playing good. But then 9 times out of 10 within a day whatever I've deposited is gone.

Now the point of my post is not to announce I'm a degenerate. It's to mention I've just had an interesting insight. IF I can just get myself to be a winning player (and I'm probabally about 10k$ down in 6 years playing everything between 2nl and 100nl) then I will be able to profit at practically any stake because there will always be players just like me now who just keep going back and losing money, and this is relative to their finances so at every stake there will be people like this.

So it's kind of inspiring in one sense, to think there will always be 'donaters' but then not so, to think that I am one of them at the moment - so I'm going to continue working at not being one.

It's not even as if its just splashing money around, people like me try hard to be a winner and stick to winning strategy but just don't stick to it. Which makes me think a vulcan would be an excellent poker player.

Haha. I forgot where I saw pros rank important traits for successful pros...and so many of them started with BRM and discipline from tilt. Plenty of degenerates, always will be.

Id imagine once you master brm, discipline, plus all the poker skills...yeah, money is always there to be made vs those who haven't been as dedicated

I've started playing the PSO skill league in an effort to play some poker without throwing more money away. Here's my new desktop background :)

I like that. I have been recommending this book to people and it may help you, "The Mental Game of Poker."

I have just finished reading The Mental Game of Poker and it is an outstanding book. It defines types of tilt you would not think possible. I have so many pages marked to read again, its like a sea of yellow post it notes.
For anyone who has issue with tilt, or confidence or their ability to learn anything new, this book will probably be the best book you ever read. It not only applies to poker, some of the concepts in this book you can apply in life and see some instant benefits.
A poker buddy of mine is a sales rep. I told him to read this book for poker reasons, but the other day he told me what effect it had on his career and it was all good.
If you do nothing else to fix the huge leaks in your game, read this book, you wont regret it.
