I take it this is a rhetorical question. Good double up for a good card.

You should have bet bigger on the turn and river.

I don't see anything terrible about this play. You made standard raise pre-flop. Flop came out semi-coordinated, you bet out pot-size, he flat-calls. Turn, you bet out half the pot, he calls. River, you bet out 1/3 of the pot, and he fires back all-in. You're getting nearly 4:1 to call. Based on turn and river, it's very unlikely he got his draw. missed flush draw, and only one possible hand for straight, which I doubt he would have.

My only advice is, just bet bigger on the turn, at least 4/5 of pot size bcz you gave your villain almost fair odds to call for possible flush or oesd.

You didn't do anything wrong. That guy just thought he could make a big river bluff with the worst garbage, and he was dead wrong. Nice hand bro.

Thank you all. I asked because I suspected by turn and river bets were probably too low. I'm too wary of the way one pair gets weaker, the longer the hand plays and I'm always wary of hidden trips.

Yes more betting on the turn and river you want to push it up.

Even if we upped bet sizing OTT and OTR, how can we be certain we are not valuetowning ourselves (barring reads)? A set is likely to play exactly this way, no?

Just saying I am not sure getting it in all all costs with TPTK even on a dry board is profitable every time.

What if he over jams turn, do we snap call? Why?

Given the hand he actually had and the type of player he was you did all right especially since you were able to get all in in river with best hand

I hope you've been told to bet bigger on the turn. As for river, well if you know he's a bad aggro then you could x/c or ship, either are probs fine vs someone like that, but you need to set things up a little better on the turn - like at least $6.50 imo, which means we'll have a river pot of approx $22 with only $15 behind.

As for his play, you can see the logic in it, from the pov of attacking what looked like weakness. You essentially induced, which is what a x/c could do on the river too, but you still need to get more value from draws and worse pairs on the turn.

As for who played it worse, well you won so I'm going with results :D

What I can understand is why your opponent just kept flat calling you. Seems to me' he should've raised you on the flop, to see where he was. So I have to say you played much better than him.
