I have been playing online small stakes cash and tournaments and get beat by players playing everything under the sun if i have a straight they have a higher straight or even a flush i have a set they have a bigger set and so on. they will play K3o and win i even lost to 72o I haven't played much live only once. In my area they have 1/3 nlhe and i could go play that. not sure how tough it is to play but i am thinking about going to go play that because online play is so iffy anymore with people playing hands that no one would play and winning and it seems to be all sites having this problem.
Will playing live be any different than online. My experience was good i did make a dumb call knowing the guy had a higher straight than me but other than that i did win so what do you guys think on that will playing live be better than online thanks i wait to read your answers

Hey there, playing live is often no different than online (in terms of odds). The stakes are often higher in live games so the players adopt a more cautious strategy. Live games are alot slower but the odds are the exact same.

Hope it helped :)

Howdy freind:0) I think playing live is diffrent,It is real:0) online is programmed, it has hands downloaded on its software, it would be the software more then the donks to me. And in a live casino i have never in my life seen so many pocket pairs as i do in these computer card rooms, i got pocket Qs three times in a row before thats like one in a billion:0) but good luck out there and i definatly think you should try live, just know when to leave when your up or down:0)

If I'm playing cash games, I play live. I am lucky enough to have two really good poker rooms near me along with new rooms with a bunch of fish opening up as well.

I play online poker @ pokerstars & partypoker ; Somehow I like it there cause of constant action !

Live poker I play rarely here in Croatia in one of casinos where usually tournament is held ; Game is much easier but also much much slower (this one is obv). However , its not easy to win those tourneys , cause there are way too many fishes who calls 4bets with rags , and the % of how often they hit those 2pairs+ is incredible ! Thats why I choose to concentrate more on online poker , so at least when I tilt , I can easily turn of PC and do something else ;)

I feel the same. Online, even if I don't think it is rigged, it seems (to me) that the odds are different than live. So as much as I can I tend to play live...

Live vs Online

In my opinion, the plus side of playing live is that people won't get as lucky on hitting their 4 outs or their low percentage of hitting their cards. On online you will see all kinds of players who get lucky and play more junk hands than live. One of the downside to playing LIVE is that it will take longer to complete one ONLINE. Also on ONLINE poker you never know if someone is cheating or have bots playing for them and another plus side to ONLINE is you can do what ever you want as you play. Like watch TV, go to the bathroom, lay down and play etc....

I find I need patience for live games as it’s very slow I have some days that there aren’t playable hands for hours with a slow dealer. I rather play live tournaments because I know that there is at least a time structure
With Cash games I Rather go online

I also fill in the doubt online poker. Constantly moving. I think it's better to play live poker. Previously, playing online poker was different.

I play mostly ACR, but also generally play for bigger stakes and more seriously live. There are a couple reasons:

1. Computers cannot truly create randomness in the way that live games can, so the odds are truer.
2. Live poker is highly regulated and there is transparency in relation to integrity of the game. At least in public poker rooms, home games might be another story.
3. It's actually very fun meeting interesting people at the table and hearing how people interact.
4. tells are an important aspect of poker, and they don't really exist online.
5. No bots! No charts! No tracking software! Purely a mental game.

That being said online has some obvious benefits:
1. Significantly more hands per hour.
2. Convenience/Comfort.
3. Being able to play multiple tables at once.
4. Online rake/fees are usually much lower than live. Especially tournament fees (a standard tournament fee is usually around 20-30% of buyin live vs standard 10% online)
5. You don't have to tip. (Well you don't have to tip live either, but if you don't shame on you.)

So just like everything poker, you have to weigh pros and cons and decide which is best for you at that specific moment.

FYI Commerce Casino and Oceans 11 in California are excellent, Austin TX and Portland OR have thriving scenes as well. Lot of other cities too, those are just ones I can attest to. Good Luck!

Edit: typo

I play on ACR, Global, BET, Carbon, and 64Spades.... with that said, I actually enjoy playing live more.... not sure if that is because I'm a much better live player, or it's because it's actually 100% random.
