I was just playing this morning at a 25 cent NL table. I had had some good luck and was up about 28 bucks. I was dealt 2 queens and before the bet came to me the pot was raised to 3 dollars. Normally I would re-raise with queens, but seeing as how I didn't want to lose all my money I had made in one shot I just called. I had put this raiser on AA or KK or possibly AK too. Flop brought an ace and help for me so I got out of it quick. 2 people ended up playing for a pot of nearly 50 bucks (the raiser with AK and someone else with A10). I could have lost a lot more than 3 bucks here ;).

It depends a little on the table too.

I take risks but it's hard to tell when you go out or raise.

I think that the time will give us some more skill and dollars lol

I was playing in a cash game with a few of my buddies and I had deadman's hand suited (A8) and usually I might've called before the flop to see the flop BUT as action came around to me I called and the guy next to me raised 5 bucks, then he got reraised 10. So i decided to stay out and fold...

Flop comes A 8 8 and boy am I pissed! Just tossed a full house and the two that were still in the hand were betting like mad men! Lol turns out I would've lost my whole stack probably (about $200) cause the guy next to me had pocket aces.

Whew.

i was at a casino and had about 350+ chips in front of me. (after buying in with a $100 and sitting at the table for about 4 hours). im in early position, i think 2 after the button and i get dealt K/Q suited. so i decided to raise up just a bit. im not a big fan of these kinds of hands, but at the same time i dont want any limpers. i get 2 callers in middle position. a woman and a guy named diago. the flop comes down 9, 5, K with no draws. i want to see where everyone is at and i bet out $25, the woman folds and diago calls. the turn card is 9 and i think that im good, but i still bet out and this i bet big to show i have a strong hand..i bet $40 and diago goes all in over that which was about $130 more to me. so i call time and begin thinking of that hands he could have. i was positive he didnt have K/9 cuz he would just called. i was thinking that maybe he could have K/rag and was really considering calling him. then it hit me, maybe diago is holding a 9 in his hand. ::story break::

diago: diago is a very good player at the casino i go to. the thing that makes him good is his ability to out play people. he's like daniel negraneu (sp?) if he thinks he can out play someone he'll call a raise, no matter how high of a raise it is. but he also can switch his game up and play a very solid conservative game as well so its a bit hard to tell if diago is bluffing or if he has the nuts... ::back to the story::

i began to think of the way diago plays and i thought to myself "hes thinking im probably holding K/A and is thinking that im thinking there is a no way for him to be holding a 9. but then thats he wants me to think, otherwise why would he go all in like that?" so long story short, i went with my instincts and i said to him "i had you beat on the flop, i know you arent holding a King." i turn over my hand and show him my K/Q and said "i fold". some people at the table gasped as if i was throwing away A/A or K/A. then all eyes were diago and he was ready to muck, but then he sighed and slowly turned his hand over. the first card was a 2 followed by a 9. i got a lot of "wows!" and "good lay down!" from the table. i even got a "good fold!" by diago himself.

sorry long story, but im proud of it.

Dont play your hand in the sb or bb if it is raised and your hand is not that good or if they just call and you check you usally pick up a draw and you call down the bets and dont hit anything, so be carfull when in the sb and bb.

after i was almost done typing all of this hand i got some crap come up and delete my whole post so i'm gonna just lay out the base of what happened...

me holding - 99 with 3 ppl in on flop

9 - K - A comes out

sb - small raise
bb - call
me - call
4th spot - call

turn 9 - K - A (A)

sb - medium raise
bb - calls
me - call
4th spot calls
everyone calls

river 9 - K - A - A - K

i'm scared now...my full is wimpy compared to the other 2 possible fulls....

so i fold being scared and knowing someone is holding at least one Ace....

sb - all in
bb - calls
me - fold
4th spot - re raises all in for more chips
bb - calls

sb - has K9 with K's over A's full
bb - has KQ with same hand
4th spot - has AA with four A's

i was so happy i folded.....kinda sucked.....what if i went all in and everyone called me....4th spot would've for sure lol...i was doomed...luckily i folded...end of story hehe
