Hi all.

I`m going through the suck out of suck out periods at moment.

I don`t want to stop playing because I`m getting my money in good - and I mean real good.

I am thinking however, that as I`m getting sucked out regardless what I do or what odds are in my favour, should I drop my aggression ad play to have the nuts?

I play O8, btw.

I am not often here, but i can tell u if u don't wanna stop playing then play for less cash till the bad time is over! ;-) Because then u wont loose that much on a hand where u think got the better odds and the guy is just sucking u in.

I play my sessions in 4's meaning I play 4 games, if I do not cash in one of those 4 I call it a day. If I cash in at least 1 even if its the smallest cash, I play another session, I do this until I do not cash. If you play proper bankroll management and take breaks often, your bad run wont seem so bad

if u have been successful with the aggressive approach in the past and have made money from it and it was sustainable, i dont see why u should not continue with this approach just cos u hit a bad slump .

eventually if its a goof strategy it will wok out for u in the end i msure

good luck

I play warcraft to save the money.

(Take a step back and enjoy something else for a bit and let yourself get a little distance from the game.)

when your getting your money in with the best hand and you get beat out, thats a sign of a downswing, what i do is stop playing 5 or 10 $$$ games and play more freerolls so as not to get rusty, and when you can come in the top 5 or 10 percent Consistantly, your over the downside, Most of the times, then start at $5. games and go up from there, sometimes taking a break, say for 3 or 4 days, No playing at ALL, Helps, you come back refreshed, everybody has a different way of doing it, hope all works out for you,,gl,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,buck:)

IMHO this is a self-inflicted wound.

In the first hand, you go all in before the flop with a hand that may very well beeome the best low, if there is one, but has virtually no prospects for a high. In other words, the most you can probably hope for here is a split pot. The low never happened and you lost a lot of chips.

In the second hand, with your depleted chip stack, you were virtually forced to call with a pretty decent hand - pocket AA and two nut flush draws. In this hand, you were just a little unlucky or your opponent was luckier.

If you had not thrown away your chips in the first hand, you could have easily folded to the bet in the second hand and waited for another opportunity.

Again, all the above IMHO.

yeah. usually when i start running bad i like to either switch poker sites or just stop playing completly for a little while. cuz if i stay on a site that i keep getting sucked out on i usually lose a lot of my bankroll.

and when it starts happening. i like to play semi-premium hands and premium hands altogether and rule everything else out. so tight-aggressive.

hope that helpeD A BIT :)

I play by feel and you either feel it or you don't. It is amazing how many times my feel is right on. Going in with the best hand and losing puts you on tilt whether you know it or not. Get out now and sit out for an hour.

Hang in there

Most definately change your game play. Especially while in a slump.
I drop the size of my game during my down time.
Just know your not alone everyone goes through this.

IMHO this is a self-inflicted wound.

So, SNG, down to final 4, 3 places paid. Folded to me with double the stack of the guy to act.

What hand would u raise with in O8 and if u say 3 wheel cards (+6 for insurance) with an ace + one ace suited is not good enough + u could not see the outcome of the hand before you make a decision.

Don't get me wrong. I think it's a great hand to play but it's not something that I would commit much to before seeing the flop. It's no consolation but, IMHO, his call was worse than your raise, especially holding 3 clubs.

With your stack, I might be inclined to not make any big moves and give the blinds an opportunity to do the job for me. There are three other players at the table and two are shorter stacked than you. With that approach, it's no longer a matter of what you would raise with but what you would call with.

If I felt compelled to put myself in a position where I could be allin before the flop, it would be something in the top end of the range with straight and flush possibilities - preferrably open ended but with no more than one gap. Even your second hand might have been marginally worth considering. Still, I probably wouldn't have considered going allin before the flop unless I was one of the short stacks.

My answer would have been the same had I not seen the final result. His full house was just plain dumb luck.

I'll usually take a break from the tables if I start running and/or playing bad. If the downswing lasts longer than usual, I'll drop down a stake, or play something different.

I usually play PL Hold'em, but if I'm running bad I'll play some cash HORSE or Razz, or a few SNGs.

If you're running bad online, get used to it.

If you're running bad in real life, relax, every period of running bad is offset by an equal period of running good.
