This is a discussion on When to pay mini raise within the online poker forums, in the Cash Games section; Good afternoon guys, how do you play blinds? How do you think it is more profitable to play those difficult positions?
I have been in doubt
I want to know the opinion of experienced players. I have this question.
Game: No-Fixed Limit. Strategy: BSS. The limit is NL2. Preflop.
We use the chart of starting hands. Let's say we have a small pocket 44 and we are in middle or late position. In front of me, all opponents are dropped. From the starting hands I must call. That is, set 0,02. But the player on the BB looks at the flop for free. I read that you should not let BB watch the flop for free. Although I still play very little, but in my practice there have been cases when BB looks at the flop for free with garbage and eventually gets on the flop a straight or flush.
So the question is. Is it worth calling or is it better to make a mini-raise, for example 0.04? In this way, we will force BB to pay for the flop card.
I wonder what will lead to these actions at a distance. It is clear that with a mini-raise, we will lose more if you have to fold. But at a distance is this obviously a losing move or not?
