When playing live cash games at casinos, and you're ahead of the game. At what point is it respectable to get up and leave? Online I can just close the table, but playing live do other players get pissed if you leave too early before they get a chance to win some money back from you? Or do they even care?

Money or reputation, which are you willing to sacrifice for the other?

If they say you're a coward in exchange for retaining profit, then you can choose.

That being said, you can turn 2 dollars into 80 if tables stays filled long enough, it's down to if you're willing to risk bigger swings and snowball or not.

There's no right time to leave and there's always the chance you will look like a coward for doing so. Does money or rep matter more to you?

If you can't answer that, you sure won't find that here since that answer lies within yourself. If you are a proud-type player you may enjoy tournament poker more than cash game poker then.

Some will be angry at the "hit and run", especially if they see you as a fish who got lucky, either with a suck-out or by getting a nice run of cards in the short time you were there.
If you won because you are playing well, they'll mostly be glad to see you go. Maybe a fish will replace you.

I'm unfailingly polite at the tables, and I enjoy the social aspects of the game. I've never even considered being an angle-shooter.
But ultimately, I'm not there to make friends.

If you actually are a fish who got lucky, run to the cage as quickly as your legs will allow. :D

I read somewhere that waiting till the button came back round to you was considered ok.

Well when you play like I do they are half happy and half crying inside. I'm one cooler hand from willing losing 170BB in one hand... Or winning it... When you play like I do they love to hate you.

Leave when you want. No one can dictate that for you.

I'll usually give a 1 round notice of when I'm leaving and leave after I'm UTG.

Just don't do what this one lady did to my friend. She was a drunk calling machine. Got all in with my friend at the 1-2 table (about $300 in the pot) on the turn and then hit a 2-outer on the river. She immediately got up and left, but as she was leaving, she turned to my friend and said, "Thank you for making my car payment. I didn't know how I was going to pay it this month."

What are you talking about? When you play like you do, people offer you free massages, and track down the server on your behalf if you are thirsty.

You might be good someday, but all of your achievements lie in the future. How much live poker have you played?

Your sig still lights me up whenever I read it.

Only women will make a comment like that, whatever if it's sexist to say that then I don't care.

Guys will only insult out of anger or rage at you bad-beating them they don't verbally sting you after bad-beating you unprovoked like that. It's just against guy code.
