What strength hands do you guys decide to move all-in? My general play earns me a steady amount of money, which im happy with at 5NL. But I just feel that sometimes im too rash when deciding to shove, which obviously creates big dents in my roll, and after these sessions means I sometimes struggle to make good profit, if any. Whereas maybe making more disciplined folds could save me a hell of a lot of money, by sacrificing $1-3 instead of $5 or my whole stack.

I know its a lot harder when then pot is large, you have a great hand, against crazy LAGs, folding seems like the last thing you want to do, but with me I think this could be a major flaw in my game.

What hands do you never move all in with? Trips? Do you only shove with the higher-end straights? Nut flushes? Or only with Full boats or better?

Thanks for your opinions and thoughts in advance.

The question is too general.

You move all in when you decide it is most profitable based on your hand, your opponent's hand range, player tendencies, fold equity, pot size, bet sizing, etc.

Well, If I'm short stack, and have a pretty much nice hand then shove is a very good option. You can also go all in to bluff. It´s the strongest move in poker. You can also go all in if you know you will have a call, increasing a lot the pot size and your stack of course.

Well if you're playing cash and you are short stack that you are doing something wrong or at least forgetting something... While i would agree with you if we were talking about tourneys then the answer for this question would simply be ICM...

I agree with mr.sandbag the question is to general but to simplify it to the lowest possible preflop i would only go all in with pocket aces or cowboys, of course i wouldn't advise showing these hands if you are not absolutely sure that you will ge called, you dont want to win 3bb with monsters... post flop i would let myself all in with top set, on loose table i would try to get allin with all sets on flop, and i would love to get called by draws, i would be winning longterm even if they hit every now or then, good thing at 2 and 5 nl is that you will get called by draws a lot, exception to this example would be 3 cards of same suit on flop, i wouldnt want to risk there without good info...

I would also move allin with nut flush, nut str8 without possible flush on a table (nut str8 would be when highest card in str is either on your hand or on the board) dont go allin with monkey side str8 and and avoid going allin with flush and str8 on paired board.

Dont move allin with TPTK unless you are playing against absolute fish, dont go allin with an overpair believe me it cost money...

And ofcourse dont go allin with draws...

IT DEPENDS ON THE SITUATION.YOU COULD BE bluffing OR YOU KNOW YOU HAVE THEM BEAT AND YOU ARE GOING TO GET AS CALL.

Stonger than 3 kind,it worth to all in. But in some case ,for example short stack,TKTP is enough.

On SnGs I usually move all in when the bet of my opponent is more than 1/3 of my stack and I got a decend hand or a hand that can improve on the turn or the river. Pre-flop I usually move all in when desperate. If Im getting shortstacked Im waiting for a good Ace with something over ten or so , suited or not, and try to double up. I usually dont give much of a "care" when I go all in because Im shortstacked because its that or being blinded out. That differs for cash games of course. Few reasons to go all in on a tournament that I can approve - being shortstacked, being sure your hand cannot be beaten by the other player, or in most cases for me - bluffing.
