So i have found myself the past few days playing for a couple hours, signing off and then still having the same if not more of an urge to play within 5 to 10 min. Throughout a day i must spend 5 to 7 hours playing but never consecutive. I try to stay disciplined in that i will set a goal of time for sitting down and playing cash but i find myself, winning or losing, just wanting to keep playing. Fearful of playing too much poker and wearing myself thin or as equally bad i keep playing and lose a few dollars here and there and end up losing more long term just because i cant stay away from the game for a day. Haha

when is enough, enough?

When I feel like playing still but I am kind of on tilt and feel like I am not playing my A game, I go and play some freerolls on ACR.

You really need to play longer sessions though. The longer the sessions the better you will do because the better reads/feel you will have on your opponents. Especially on Bovada where everyone is anonymous so your only read is from that session alone.

Right now I am limiting my self to playing for cash on the weekdays and I am supposed to do studying during the week.

Yeah im going to try and lengthen my sessions. I was doing about an hour before i would play some sit n gos or mtt's. Im thinking im going to put a 2 hour session in. I usually play 10NL but i think i am going to drop to 5NL to play 2 tables instead of one. I like the idea of doing cash every other day with focus on sit n gos on the other days and maybe a mtt on sunday. My sit n go at the moment is most profitable but id really like it to be cash. I think this ambition is part of my problem for wanting to play longer.

If you are a new player, I would suggest to stick to one format until you are winning in that and then learn a new style. Trying to play and win all 3 formats at once is probably going to make it much much harder.

Oh my bad, I guess it is just my personal preference to focus on 1 style and to master it. I am currently attempting this with cash games and then I will move onto MTT's. I just feel like you get much more out of it when you focus on 1 area of study.

Play as long as you're enjoying it and playing well enough to be +EV. Unless you're playing for enough money where it's more meaningful than enjoying yourself, why put in time for the sake of putting in time? And if you only play a little or not at all some days, so what? You either weren't in the mood, weren't playing well or both anyway.
