When do you cash out from table ?

Hello everyone,

I am new to this website and i must say that i love how everybody is so helpful to eachother here.

So, I started playing online from a while(6 to 8 months) and i am in positive income. I notice that most of the time i do very well on many tables cauz i have my target set on mainly 2 or three guys to double me up(aggressive donks or a calling station type). My problem is i don't know when to leave the table. should i leave when i double or tripple my bbs. I usually keep playing till my favorite players are still on the table, but that has affected negetively on my stack sometimes. what do u guys do usually.

i play (10nl to 25nl)

I advise you to leave the table when you double.It's more secure than try to tripple.

It's really a big matter for me when you should leave the table after some successes .

200Bbs ?? 300Bbs ???

I see that after 200Bbs I start making mistakes , or at 300Bbs+ I start losing a lot , some bad beats also or sneaky outplays that cost a lot . If you take into consideration that I buyin 55-60 Bbs only , then 200Bbs is awesome !!! , even 100-150Bbs is not bad .....

(rarelly I have 500Bbs and start losing until I lose all , it has happenned quite many times , very strange this downswing , very tilting , very sad . But if I manage to win more , like 700Bbs , 800Bbs , 1000 Bbs then GOD MODE begins , they really afraid of huge stacks , that's nice . Also it's so fun , without any stress when you play a huge stack , I see so many hands , winning so many cashback points , I remember twice in the past I got my pokerstars chromestar level that way in 1 or 2-3 days !!!! (in order to play some freerolls for this VIP level ) . As if this is the reward for winning so much until then . I play relaxed then and I enjoy , and if I have a big loss I sit out still with many profits At all costs on this special occassion I avoid conflicts with other huge stacks , this would be a complete catastrophe !!! But this GOD MODE happens really extremelly rarelly for me , almost a miracle )


Most of the times after 200Bbs or 300Bbs I have to deal with hands such as this ...............................................So yes , better leave the table after 200Bbs or 300 Bbs ...

To be or not to be? Probably many asked themselves this question before and after Shakespeare. As for your situation, I think you should not try to sit out your favorites. The main criterion should be your stack. As soon as you notice that it has slowed down or started to decline, immediately leave the table. If you wish, you can continue the game at another table. We should be staying in games where we are favored to win as long as we are playing well.

Your stack will fluctuate do to variance.

What we have to be concerned with is playing our B and C game when we are up or being on "winning tilt" thinking we can win in spots we would normally not be in.

So keeping notes is the key.

If you are winning and then give it back, you need to do a deep dive into how you were feeling and playing in that spot.

Be honest about your play. Do not think it was ok to loosen up or I over limped because I was winning and that is ok. Normally you would fold but you chased and hit and still lost.

These are the things you should be looking for in your play.
When you review and see mistakes the next step is to see those mistakes in the moment.

If like the poster who shared a bad beat, you are just getting bad beats so be it.

i sit with $200 at $1/2 NL

usually cash out when i pass the $500 mark

goal is to make $300 a session

When there's nothing to cash out.

I leave, if I need a break, or if there are no bad players at the table. Sometimes I also leave, if I have a bad seat with loose players on my left and tight players on my right. How much I am up or down dont affect my decisions. I will however sometimes end my session prematurely, if I feel, I am beginning to tilt because of losing.

You cash out when you lose your edge (assuming you have an edge in the game in the first place). The reasons vary. You start to get tired, get distracted, table dynamic changes, you get bored, you notice you start playing too loose or too tight.

I've been guilty of the last. Right after making a fold, you reflect that probably should have called with AQ there. Then realize its just fear...okay my head isn't on straight right now...time to leave.

You should only play as long as you think you are playing your A game. Leave when you feel you aren't. Don't base it on results.

I believe it is better to leave for reasons that don't have to do anything with your stack size and results. Unless that makes you feel comfortable and helps your psychology.
For example if the table is good and you feel great and have an edge against your opponents then why to leave that table? Because you double-up or triple-up? Maybe you double-up because you play on that exact table. But if you feel better psychologically to leave and book a winning day then do that. Psychology affects a lot ones game.
Also you might sit on a good table and take one or two bad beats. Then again if you think that the table is soft and you 're ok to continue then don't leave that.
And of course if you are tired, bored, tilting, have tough opponents, 'bad' seat, it is always good to leave the table either you lose or win.

I'm playing 6max 5NL online and I tend to quit normally when I'm starting to play below my A game. But I will move to another table for many reasons:

-if there's less than 3 opponents
-if the table is too passive
-if I reached 150-200 BB, I usually leave if I know some of the players can get a chunk from me

I don't tend to stay in if I manage to get to $9-10, simply because I don't think at this level I can exploit others with a bigger stack as they can exploit me. Maybe I'm wrong?
