Daniel Negreanu (AKA Mr. MoreRakeIsBetter) says it is a good practice to have a set time frame to play poker and to leave when you said you would, regardless if you are in a hole or if you are up. This allows us to discipline ourselves at the table to play our very best, rather than trying to make a quick dollar.

Often times on Instagram or Reddit, I see people post pictures of the stack they cash out at and they say how long their session is. For example, "in for $100, out for $1000 in 2.5 hours". Frequently, I find that a lot of people play very short sessions and cash out while they're up. Other times I see really long sessions in attempt to hopefully come out positive. My buddy says he does that to help him build a bankroll, so that he isn't buying back in for how much he won at his next session.

I am not asking, when is it time to cash out. Rather, I am asking if you would rather stay for an entire 8 hour session and leave at the 8 hour mark regardless of your chip stack size... or would you rather make a quick dollar and leave right away to protect your profit?

I am not leaving when i am ahead or behind. Im leaving when i feel that i can't play good poker anymore, and my decisions at the table are not the best anymore.
So a fixed time is a good strategy If it's not too long or too short. But also leave when you just make bad plays.

Once your brain stops working in the way it was at the peak of your play, then it’s time to cash out. If you ever start chasing cards that haven’t been coming for the past few hours, you’re no longer playing the game you love. You’re just straight gambling. Time frames and go-times are key. In my world it’s heavily used.

What are your thoughts on a fixed time frame, but with a stop loss? It is definitely possible to lose 10+ buy ins, getting it in with premium hands to get sucked out on sets or 2 trash pairs. That doesn't always mean you're playing bad.

Yeah it does not mean im playing bad always If i lose alot. But a stop lose is a Little weird. I can lose just 3-4 hands and realise that im playing bad and take a break or just stop for the day.. i don't need to see -10bi or really any amount just to conform myself that im not in the mood to play.
I think it's better to have a set amount of hands to play.. like 500/sesion or Something like that since it will make You concentrate and know exactly what is the end and that will be an end, winning or losing. I might play 10 hours and still be -9bi cause i set myself a stop lose of 10 and that would be pretty dumb.
