Hello Guys,

Playing NL5. I feel like I have definitely fixed lots of holes in my game. ( starting hands, when I know I'm beat, 3 betting) stuff like that, definitely have way more room to improve.

I still feel like Im still just playing my cards. If I have a good hand I raise. If i connect with the flop then I'll continue to raise, if I miss the flop and they raise i fold.

When is it right time for me to improve to the next level of poker ( level 2 thinking I suppose). Again I'm still at the Nl5.

Any books, videos, twitch streamers I can watch will be appreciated. Thank you!!

Learning the basics if really the biggest and hardest step to make in poker but you're definitely on the right track. I think the first thing you absolutely have to have down before moving on is your ranges, you need to know what cards at what position can be played in what ways really well not only to help you make solid plays but also to help you figure out what the v could have better. The next thing I would suggest is bet sizing as my personal suggestion, mostly because if you look at a lot of future poker skills they really rely on making properly sized bets at the right time and making a bet that's off by one or two BB can have a very large impact on how the hand unfolds so do look over the recommended sizes and all the associated topics that go with that (effective stack size, pot odds, raising ranges, etc.).

Once you get this foundation down I think you can safely start to look at the next level of poker strategy, think of it as the ranges and bet sizes as a chainsaw to get you a ton of BB on solid hands and the level two stuff as a scalpel to get a little bit extra from the v. Some of the sites I really enjoy and I think have helped me a lot are pokerschool online, this MIT poker series that someone mentioned in a CC post not to long ago and pokerbank (I'll add links below). But of course don't forget to check out the CC strategy section for some of your specific advanced strategies. Hope all that helps and best of luck to you!

I have a questionable mentality and I would suggest playing to the top stakes of play money before spending another real cent because I believe it's about adding nonstop concepts to the game infinitesimally. You cannot ever be as good as you can be because if you are that good, you are not countering your own style well enough yet. Always think how 'you' would beat the 'you' from 2 grinding sessions ago and how the 'you' from the session in between would be worse than you at beating them or better or whatever.

I combine my styles and personalities I tell you no one can figure me out but that alone doesn't make me good. What makes me good is that I constantly evolve (even within a session). I will go TP to the LAG, I will go LP to the TP I will go TAG to the LP I will go LAG to the TAG and everyone remains rigid thinking they've 'cracked it'.

Listen here little shark wannabes you think just because you're no longer gold fish that you're on my level? No no no, you don't get it, when you come at this shark with your harpoon I turn into a gorilla and caveman smash that harpoon over your skull, when you try to non sotp bluff me what you gonna do when I'm willing to lose 300BB just to stand up to you? nothing you can do mate, it's about that raw nature of badassery. You need to learn something about these maniacs, they are not smart but they are brave and to deal with a brave person you need to not be totally timid but also not totally brave. Need to time that counter risky strikes like a champ. Who can do it, only me? NO AND THIS IS MORE REASON TO KEEP IMPROVING.

Tomorrow's shark was yesterday's donkey, you are only as good as others are bad to your style of play. Think what will they want me to play, which style AND PLAY ALL STYLES EXCEPT THAT STYLE UNTIL IT DRIVES THEM INSANE. Can bluff a person? you are damn right I can, can I be an idiot and think I am bluffing but they call? You are damn right I can. Am I the smartest on the table? Probably not. Am I the most statistically adept? Definitely not. Am I too good at baiting them again and again into engaging my bets as they know i'd bet with nothing? You are damn right. You need to constantly evolve like if you 4 days from now is the predator playstyle of the you today. Never ever think you are complete, never ever think you've solved poker. Embrace the inferiority you have to others and evolve to make them inferior once again.

I like your mindset. Pretty much always change your style of play, so when your always bluffing and your opponent thinks they got you read and think your bluffing, bam you show up with the nuts, and vice versa.

Definitely feel likke this take a lots and lots of experience and good reading skills.

Thank you

You're definitely on the right track to become a losing player. That the most stupid thing what you're doing. That mentality will bankrupt you unless you have a day job that can supply fresh money into your gambling habits.
