I just got knocked out of pokerstars freeroll in position 27 out of 6271, i was dealt AA, the blinds were 25000 and 50000, i was in early position 1 after UTG, i had about 300,000, raised 100000 ... slow playing because i wanted a caller so i could get some chips for a possible final table. i got my wish , guy called all inwith KJ suited and by the river had his straight 9-K. I'm sat here with my measly 80 cents thinking if id all inned he would of folded and id be still in with a real possibility of a final table. what was the better play? can I be assured I made a reasonable play and just got unlucky or is all in the better choice?

You didnt play the hand bad as you got a caller and had the hand isolated to one caller because of your raise. You went into the hand as a big favorite and lost. I dont think you played it bad and as weak as some of the players are in freerolls he would have probably called you with any 2 paint cards as players think thats any 2 face cards are the nuts no matter what the raise is in front of them.

to tell you the truth its a depends question, i need more info like stack sizes, i know you said you were in early position but you have to be more specific. Personally i would of just hit the all in button and take the blinds if i had to.

Ya just never know, I would have probably went all in! but it's a freeroll and and even in a low buy in tourny your liable to get called and lose anyway! it's happened to me a lot.

Thats just a run of bad luck. What I've learned from experience online is to never slow-play big hands someone will call, and with the rate you get big hands online, you're bound to get a pay off

In a freeroll I always go all in with AA because someones always gonna call anyway. Least that's been my experience and I play a lot of them.
