$1/$2 NL

I will be making a trip to my local casino and would like to know what others think about starting chips.

I been there 4-5 already and have bought in short every time. Min buyin is $50.00 and max is $200.00. Im not really comfortable buying in for the max because I cant really play the big stack well. I will be afraid of playing large pots for all my chips ect.

So far ive manged to come out a winner but will my luck eventually run out ? If i go bust do you always buy back in or should I wait another day to come back?

Well if I was to sit down I would buy in for 100bb's($200) but if you don't feel comfortable buying in full then buy in for 50bbs($100).

Sounds like you are scared money though which already puts you at a disadvantage from the get go.

for live game I would suggest to use at least 100bb, so with that kind of stack you can play comfortably
for online games, I usually get between 50-100bb

1/2 or any cash game roll tip

you never want to buy-in for more then 1/50 of your bankroll/poker roll

if 100$ is say 10% of your gambling fund you may want give it a shot but to be profitable you want have multiple buy-ins for swings/variables etc. if you can keep your bankroll around 1/50th and play right there is no reason why you cant be a profitable player..
be aware though that a average of 10-20$ pph "profit per hour" will be show over multiple hours of standard proper play

dont bluff play b- and up hands very simple grind

GOOD LUCK

This is my style... $200 when i go to the casino.
If i hit 350+ or 2hrs... I have a break and move onto the next table.

It saves u from dry tables and sometimes you can continue the lucky hands at the next table... Anyways i have a high success rate with walking out with 400-1000 a night... in 3 months i've walked out with nothing once.

Luck hands i clarify is you have A nut flush and they get K flush... Or AA vs KK ... Just good luck timing hands where you double up.
tonight i ran at $75 an hr.. Saving for a house through work+poker then after i pay off a house i'll play poker fulltime.

You really should buy-in for the max if you feel like your a better player than ur opponents.. if your just trying to get lucky than play with whatever your comfortable.. You really want to maximize profits when you get all the chips in..

No i dont think im scared money. I'm just playing smart. If I did buyin for the max and happen to take a badbeat then im out my whole stack.Im basically trying to build a bankroll and get a feel for the game.Thank you for your opinion

Im the same for those limits I like to buy in for minimum and double triple up fairly easily, Most of the time there will always be big stacks calling ''knowing'' that they can only loose $50, The bad part is not winning the full$200 all in, So it works both ways, Loose $50 or win $50 and go from there.

members are right when they are saying we play scared our reply to that is that it keeps us away from a bad beat, Specially if we loose the whole $200 in the first couple of hands, We are there also for fun. If I was to buy-in max, I believe I would play a bit too loose, Being short stacked and knowing that I played great/well to get my stack up to 200/400 makes me proud of myself.:D
