I just have never been sure and that is why I am wondering if there is an official thing or whatever... I personally would consider NL$5/$10 and maybe L$10/$20 to be the lowest high stakes games but is there like an official stake that is considered high stakes? I am just wondering so I can know when my bankroll is big enough to consider myself a high stakes player :)

I think 1000NL is considered to be high stakes as people have 4 digit stacks. Not completely sure though.

I would consider anything over 25/50 to be high limits but like above am not sure.
I suppose 10/20 could get deep,but not nessisarily high limits.
I would also like A solid anser to this myself.

I don't think there's a solid answer to this question, there's no strict rule where stakes are considered high. Somewhere high stakes are 10/20, other places high stakes start from 50/100.

It's probably an example of;
'if you need to ask the price, you can't afford it'

High Stakes?

In my opinion High Stakes are a matter of individuality. In other words it all depends on how much you have in your bank and how much the Blinds are when you decide on a game. If you have $100 in your bank and you sit at a table that requires the whole size of your stack to buyin then you are playing High Stakes. I would think that irrespective of the size of your stack when you sit at atable that requires your whole stack to buyin then you are playing high stakes.

Walk into the casino and look at the games available. (not highstakes shown)

I'd imagine they separate the highstakes games.

I think 10/20 is the last of it before it starts getting high stakes.

I consider high stakes, where players like isildur, tom dwan, patrick antonius and all the stars plays, that's like 50/100 and higher blinds. ;)

if u ask me, id say anything above 50NL is considered to be pretty high. but thats cause ive spent my entire life playing the micros. so i guess its a matter of perspective.
