I had a6 in the cut off 4 handed game so I was utg. I made it 3x (playing a 3/6c cash game. Button min re raises me now we haven't played very many hands togethr and I've seen him make this move before and he didn't seem too strong so I feel I might be beating his range he probably doesn't have a big pocket pair and I can maybe out play him. The odds were to good so I called. Flop came k107 I checked and he checked. Now I think he was just messing around pre flop to stop me from c betting since he knows i do it all the time. So the turn came an 8 (2 diamonds now). I decided to raise pot. The reason is I dontbactually think he has anything but at the same time he is fishy so if he's going to try and hit a straight with a 6,9 or j he's gonna have to pay( at these stakes you'd be amazed how often players call for gut shots when the price is way off. He instantly shoved me.. I'm guessing he probably had 9j suited. I folded. I just want to know how I could of played this hand better. I'm so aggressive its like a disease haha please help! Oh i never said I was a pro so please dont talk shit just tell me how I could of improved. Thanks

Your leak is raising A6 from UTG, that is where all the problems in this hand begin.

I dont object raising A6 playing 4 handed.
You didn't do very well putting him on a range. Way to narrow.

I'm just going to stop reading and commenting on your hands until you put them in the correct part of the forum

Doesn't matter anyway. Haven't you noticed that he never responds to any thread? Just moves on to the next horribly played hand.

haha I didn't notice that. I looked through his old threads and he's replied to precisely zero.

playing 4 handed is a bad idea... ace six offsuit is an awful awful hand that should have been folded then u should have cashed out from the table...

Was coming in to remove this thread since OP can't hear us anymore (not that he was listening before) BUT wtf is all this fold A6 playing 4 handed nonsense?

This is a very standard open.

I'm not sure if this is totally off base, since position is such a huge part of the game, however since it is only 4-handed, wouldn't you be able to play ANY ace profitably? Ace-high may very well win unimproved a signficant percentage of the time. I understand being UTG, your starting hand range must narrow, but if I ever play at a table with less than 6 people (i usually avoid this) I am playing any ace in any position. Is this terrible?
I have heard from some that even in a 6 handed game, they play any ace in an unraised pot preflop. Is that a major leak?

It's fine. 4 handed UTG is basically the CO at a full table. All Ax hands should be profitable opens from than position as a general rule.

ok, what about 6-handed? Is any ace good in 6-handed as well, or would you fold Ace-rag from early position with 6 people?

I have a lost a ton of money due to a lesser kicker when I first started playing (I am still a new player) and am trying to avoid putting myself in difficult situations with top pair, weak/mid kicker. I fold all weak aces in full-ring (unless it is folded to me in late position and I attempt to steal blinds with a halfway decent hand), but I guess my question is, am I not taking advantage of my aces when it is a 6-handed game? Or am I being smart when I fold my A8o from, say, utg+1 in 6-handed game?

A6 utg on a full 6max table is definitely a fold, and so is A8o from mp/utg+1

sorry but I hate A with weak kicker, he made a decent bet to steal and with min-reraise he was getting decent odds to see flop. After that he's OP and looking at exactly what happened in the hand.
