Whenever I play zoom there seems to be a handful of people that play terrible hands. I tried to bluff someone and used about half my stack to see he had a 66 on a fairly high card board against my AJo

Someone called another bluff with Jack high against my 9-10

I know that this happens with bluffing, and no I don't do it that much. If someone calls me and catches me out with a top pair or better than I respect that play. I was watching a video by konono or whatever and he would shove with AK or sometimes use his whole stack with TPTK. Can you get away with these plays a little more?

I've played a lot of zoom and I would say that the average zoom player is better than the average regular cash game player for that level. In my experiences, zoom players tend to be much tighter preflop and are much less likely to play junk hands like the regular cash game players are.

Also, it's not bad to make a hero call if you suspect that your opponent is bluffing. I've made hero calls with Ace high and bottom pair before. If anything, I find the whole concept of a hero call to be much more respectable than just calling down with top pair and putting zero thought into your actions.

As for the nanonoko videos, you have to take into account 2 things:
1) He plays at a much higher level and the average player is much more aggressive at that level, meaning that you sometimes do have to call down with TPTK.
2) Position, board texture and player tendencies are relevant here. Was this a blind vs BTN battle? Was this a board texture where there were a lot of busted draws? Did his opponent show spewy tendencies? There are times when it's okay to stack off with TPTK and there are times when it's not okay. It depends on the context and his logic behind making the call.

Zoom Poker is in my experience very aggressive. Some players reis on each hand, and when a bad day, it can be against these players a lot to lose.

Quick-blind poker is always a lot more aggressive resulting in seemingly bad playing.

Take this advice to heart. Whenever I play on zoom, I found most players only stayed in the hand with quality cards, There are always the few that think they can steal from the button or small blind, so just make a note if the same player seems to always be making the same moves from the button or small blind. If you think they are stealing, mega 3-bet them and it is amazing how often they fold. However, be cautious with your bluffs. I found more players make hero calls on zoom than in anything other than freerolls.

play nl25 above, more or less adequate game begins there, but expensively it is necessary to pay for the mistakes)

I agree with Zhendos, 25nl at least. At the .01/.02 level, these terrible players will play any two cards because "its only 2 cents".

zoom can win a lot in a good day but often average players tend to lose a lot as it is a more aggressive and faster or mode

Moving up because players don't respect your bluffs is a terrible idea? Just bluff less and learn to spot which players are thinking and which aren't. It's on par to saying 'I can't play against bad players', good players are called good players for a reason haha

Besides some MTTs I've been playing Bovada Zone (basically Zoom) almost exclusively the past few months. You WILL have swings and WILL lose stacks to really strange plays.

I'm doing ok overall but to provide an example last night I had a long single Zone table session while playing an MTT and left a little over 3+ BI profit. Today log in, can't buy a bucket and down at least 2.5 BIs. Some were just folks calling terrible odds and catching their flushes, some were my mistake getting outkicked on a tricky spot.

I agree with others that the skill level in general appears higher. I've found for me Zone has improved my skillsets and made me a better player. BUT for a lot of people it's a crapshoot and bingo to them.

That said, I think a tight aggressive strategy is what you want in this format, esp 6-max modes. Rarely bluff, bet hard to protect your hands from draws, don't call all-ins preflop without a massive hand (unless other player is really short otherwise fuller stacks are only shoving pre with QQ or better most case), play fit or fold on cheap flops to set mine. If you don't know where you're at in the hand and get checked to you but have a hand put out a bet to test (but if the board is drawing, bet nearly pot), if you get to river and have no idea where you stand just check it down, often you win against draws). If you choose to bluff steal the pot on river, I prefer to do so on smaller pots where there's been little action, never try to steal against 2 or more players.

Basically TAG and even with great execution you will lose multiple BIs in some sessions.

Its one of basic rules:
Never bluff on micro on Stars!!!!!

Of course never say never. But your bluffs should be semibluff c-bets on dry boards, where you some reasonable chance to redraw.
Dont try big overbets on river, they went so far, they want to see your cards.

I'm curious. Below what level is considered micro? I'm loving the $0.1/0.25 zoom and I find most players respect bluffs/good bets most of the time. A lot depends on stack sizes though. And if they have QQ or better it's used as a bluff catcher.

There are going to be terrible players who will call with anything at any level of the micros and in any format, Zoom, regular tables etc.

The key is to know who they are and simply value bet them to death. And this of course means that you need to stop trying to bluff them. A flop CBet is ok, but if they call, don't hammer on them with air.

zoom

zoom tournaments are very good to compete , we just have to get used to aggressive players , because when you give up a hand you are automatically directed to another table , the players who are usually pay with the strong hand

Here's my tip for you: Don't bother bluffing.
