What do you think a limp - reraise of my raise means?

I run across this on occasion.

Today there were 4 limpers, I was in the SB and had AK so I raised 4xBB (not enough, on reflection. Should have been 3 + 4 X or so).

2 limpers after me called, and the third minraised my raise, last limper folded, I called, the other 2 callers called. Flop came low cards, we checked to the reraiser and he made a large bet and everyone folded.

I can only envision two situations to do this;

!) if he thinks I'm weak and he's betting that the others have marginal hands to begin with, or

2) he's limped AA or KK, has seen that the pot is now big and decided it's worthwhile to take the lead on the hand and take it down on the flop.

Are there other likely reasons, other than being an aggressive donk? (today's example was a freeroll, after all)

What suit were the cards on the board. Possible pocket pairs. I dont like the limp then minimal raise that just seems like he wants you to call rather than take the hand there and then.

Everyone checked to him, he has pockets may have been a flush draw on the board so he wanted to shut the hand down.

Many reasons for this depending on his style and table image

I've been noticing that the limp/re-raise play with KK and AA has become increasingly popular lately. I see it all the time in my adventures in $10NL. I've tried it on rare occaisions in the past just to mix up my play, but haven't found it to be terribly effective. But it has happened to me often enough that I make a point to at least think about it.
So my guess would be that he was holding Aces or Kings, but seeing as how it was a freeroll, it could be anything.

Yeah, without reads I'm folding this on the assumption it's AA or KK.
