What I mean is what do you do to keep interested in your games and not start widening your range and calling positions?

I don't let myself get tilted anymore. I've come to accept bad beats, suckouts, and coolers as an integral part of the game, and they don't piss me off anymore. Yeah, they suck, but there's not much you can do about them, and the better you are at controlling your emotions, the more likely you are to maintain your composure and continue to make smart, profitable decisions, and overcome those bad situations.

Gettint tilted always made me want to quit and go do something else. Now that I have my emotions in check, my interest stays peaked for longer periods of time, and it usually plays out to my benefit.

Just what we're doing now...More reading (books by pros, forums, videos, etc...) to just refresh current strategies or to learn new tactics. You can never completely master poker because there's always something new to grasp.

Maybe your can try multi-tabling. I know this gets me to fold more marginal hands preflop and play more ABC poker.

Part of it that I realize yet struggle to act out is the fact you can't always be on your A game. Get out when it just ain't happening.

What I used to do in the beginning was printing a paper which stated in big " THIS IS YOUR MONEY, YOUR LIFE! Seeing that all the time kept me in a constant condition of interest for making money and pay attention.

Over the course of cash games and tourneys I realized that I could only stay in the "zone" for about 3-4 hours, tops. I couldn't, however, seem to figure out when to quit on the cash tables, leading to deteriorating quality of play. Eventually, over a long time, I narrowed down my play to certain kinds of SNGs that fall within my round time as well as field size constraints, and have been doing great. By creating a "niche" amongst all the NL variations out there to suit my personality in this manner, I like to think that I bring my "A" game or at least be at my focused best for the majority of the time.
