I'll generally play suited connectors or obv things like A6 etc.

I'll also play very agrresive with them if needbe, especially if in position

Its a good way to lose money, unless your paying attention to the pot odds.

Ax suited is a trouble hand, specially if you pair the ace. You are basically looking to hit the flush or get out. If the pot odds aren't there to chase the flush draw then every time you try you are making a negative play.

76 suited etc are a bit better in that its easier to get away from and you can also have the chance of a straight draw. On the whole though these are hands I usually fold.

so u telling me when u decide to play any suited cards, position and pots size should be consider first and playing those cards aggressively will give u better outcome rather than slow playing it. hmmmmm

don't have to play them aggressivly, you can limp in with them in late posistion if there have been plenty of other people limping into the pot before you

then wait and see what part you have of the flop and what size bet you will need to call compared to the size of the pot

for me whenever my hold cards are suited, most of the time i will play it and see the flop. well also depends on if there were any preflop raise or not, but my question is it wrong to play them to see the flop and then fold them if nothing came up?

Compared to the amount of times you will get another 2 of your card on the flop to the amount of money you spent seeing the flop, most of the time its probably correct to fold.

Now assuming that you get a flush draw you still won't make the flush most of the time, which costs you more money. Then there are the times when someone else will make a higher flush and you will lose even more money.

So unless there have been a lot of others putting money in the pot and the amount you need to put in there to see the flop is making the odds worth calling, then you should usually fold.

hmmmm thanks for this advice, but i guess whenever ur playing poker, u should be taking ur time on selecting which hands to play instead of expecting a win right away. patience is the other issues that i need to work out. plus need to learn to get up and take a walk instead of grinding out every single hand u get. hehhhehe alot of work to accomplish.

I will usually only play suited connectors from 89-AK. For hands like 89s, 109s, J10s, QTs, QJs, KTs, KJs, and KQs, I will only limp or call a small preflop raise. For these hands to play profitably, there MUST be a multiway pot (at least 3 other callers going to the flop).

The only suited cards I will raise with are AKs and sometimes AQs. Only rarely will I raise with AJs.

Remember, suited cards are NOT made hands.

If you have 4h 6h for example, just think if someone has ah and another h. Your done. Wait for a better hand unless your opponents body language "tells" you otherwise and all other considerations tell you to play.

Ax suited I play really slow hoping to pick up two pair, set, flush draw etc. I will dump if an ace hits, and my kicker is weak especially if I am raised a significant amountSuited connectors I like to raise preflop from a middle-late postion and then bet the flop no matter what.

I definitely used to play more suited cards when I first started, and lost many times chasing flushes. For the beginner player, it may be hard to get away from a flush draw, but especially when the board pairs you should be wary of chasing a flush and potentially losing to a boat.

Only Play Suited connectors, Gap connectors or over cards depending on Position, Size of Pot, Size of My Stack. If I have a huge stack will call an all in with a Suited Gap connector if Represents less than 2 percent of my stack. Hits 25% of the time so thats good the way I figure in the long run. I have a chance to knock someone out. The fewer your opponnents the better your odds.

playing any two suited cards is disastrous. Playing suited connectors out of position to a raise is just spewing money. Remember that in NL TH, if someone is betting correctly then drawing to your flushes/straights is usually -EV.

The Question of 7/6 Suited

Hey, I've been playing poker for 2 years at fulltiltpoker and 3 at a live game at a pokeroom down the street from my condo. at Ftp i play 10/20 NL AND 1/2 LIMIT AT the live game and 100/200 at my home games and of course there completely different games. Now the pot odds talked about are correct if you do not pay attention to pot odds you will NEVER will enough money to atleast make a comfortable living off Poker it is in the books it will never happen. Now for those who dont want to make a comfortable living at it and just make extra money pot odds arent as important and when you play low limits like 1/2 pot odds count for almost nothing unless you on flush draws up and down draws or the straight flush draws then its a pot odds factor weither you should raise or just get out. Now 7/6 Suited at higher limits like 100/200 and even 10/20 are improer cards to play one because people most of the time will play tight the higher the stakes so the pot odds will be to low for you to be raising the pot. Now ive seen many amatueurs in lower limits have 76 suited and they catch 2 of the 3 hearts needed to make a flush but before the flop the pot was raised and the board comes AKK with 2 hearts. To raise or even still be in the hand when this happens makes little to no sense and in this way yes people who fall for this are also my poker "buddies" because they lend me so much money. The reason for staying away from draws when this board happens is already your opps. probably already have the fullhouse or even quads and a smart poker player would play like he's got nothing and just smooth call till the turn or even river to get you to make your hand and lose to his nuts or 2nd nuts. so bottom line if you want to play 7/6 suited go right on ahead but dont ask for money when you go broke playing it.

I'd rather play any connected cards like 67o than j4s because with 67o there is a chance you will hit the nuts while you never will with j4s. But I would only play 67o in position for a limp.

If you play suited cards you have a 6% chance to hit if you see all 5 cards. Of course that doesn't mean 6% to win since sometimes another player will have higher suited cards than you, or there will be a pair and someone will have a full house or even 4 suited cards will come and someone with a lone ace or king of the suit will beat your 2 cards. Therefore, generally playing any 2 suited cards is a losing proposition, especially against a raise or against a single opponent.

Of course limit and no-limit are different. In limit big cards and pocket pairs rule. You don't get enough implied odds to play alot of suited crap in limit usually unless they are big cards.

In No-limit you have a chance to take all of someones chips if you hit so it's sometimes worth it if you can get in cheaply and are smart enough to know when you are beat post flop. Remember about 95% of the time you will not hit so if you are playing them against raises mathematically you are going to lose in the long run.

If I can sneak in cheap I'll play any sooted connectors long enuff to see the flop. If the flop misses then its easy to toss them. If I'm playing a tight table I might even raise with them.
