I have a big leak in my game. I don't know if it's really a leak .... I really don't know anymore what to do in these stupid situations.
So let's say I'm playing 10nl: I'm in SB/BB with 88 and the button (25/20) raise 0.30 (hands played with him 100+, steal 40+, 3bet 10+, 4bet 10+!!!), so he is pretty aggro and I say well I know he likes to steal a lot so I 3bet 0.90 and he 4bet 2.70, I shove and guess what? he shows QQ+. I shoved because his 4bet range is soo high, and I have a decent hand aganst his 4bet range. Is these a bad play ???? Often times I just have to fold.
I don't understand these guys, they steal and then 4bet you... they are willing to risk their entire stack just to make you fold. Yes I know sometimes when I have a big hand I stack them, but very often I 3bet and fold. Same thing happens when I steal and they resteal, and sometimes I 4bet and they shove... and I fold. Again I'm talking here ONLY about these steal/resteal maniacs.
Is ok to go allin light against these guys or I just fold to their steal and stop stealing them when I'm IP ???

In my opinion this steal/resteal strategy don't work at micros, i think It's impossible to have +EV doing this at 2nl-25nl. This strategy applies to thinking players not fish/maniacs/tagfish. am I wrong?

HI remus,

This is actually something you should do vs such players. BUT, its also part of the leveling war. What I mean by that is this.....If the player is adjusting his play to you, and you are doing the same to him, then by nature of that, a leveling situation has taken place. So there are two things you can do here.

A. You can make this play randomly vs him (like do it 10% of the time you are dealt 88)- This is for balance, but its also for your image vs him. If he ever catches you doing it, its not a bad thing, hell back off from that point, and you can go on playing your normal game for a while.

B. If you think you are better at out guessing what adjustments hes making, then you do some when you think his 4 betting range has passed the threshold. (even still you will run into QQ some of the time)

I agree for the micros your not really going to get into a thinking game against 3-betting players.
it does'nt really get serious chess like battles until 100NL and some overly agressive 50NL

my advice really would be to either open min raise more often so you can afford to call a 3bet against a maniac if he is last to act,

the only other option is to get in the deepend with them and test the water call in position and see how they react some players give up on the steal without a decent holding,

also check raising manics on the flop can be effective if you know this guy is just trying to steal,
fight back

however if hes causing to many problems just try and stay out of each others way and look for the easy money from bad players -
u can always find a better game

I found that aggro restealers have little idea what to do postflop OOP ;) just float them like mad.

With aggressive players, its great to play your game and then catch them. Maybe that time he had a higher pair but the odds of that are rare. Check our how your site plays as in my experience some sites tend to have pairs with higher pairs more often than the odds suggest.
