Star with freerolls if you don't want to make a deposit. They might be a full of donks but it's the only way to win free money in poker. Try sites like betonline or ACR if you're in the US they have a ton so you can usually always be playing.

I disagree with the freeroll. You'll get frustrated and never start. Put 30 or 40 in a account. Not a 20. Play 1/2 cent cash games. Maybe play at wsop or poker stars with fake money and practice there. Get comfortable with bankroll management and play 1k hands. If you win more than lose, try a deposit of 30 or more.

Start by opening a neteller or skrill account and deposit some cash.

Transfer to your jokerstars account and you have bankroll.

Start from there. Good luck

Start with freerolls and when you are confident in your game make a deposit and go.

First, decide what discipline you will play (cash game, MTT or SnG) do not make a big dip and improve your game, go up through the limits. Good luck!

I think you should deposit a small amount of money , and try to play at the cash tables ( small stakes ) or in the micro buy-in tournaments ...

It's best to start the bankroll with a freeroll. Only then make a deposit.

Depends on your skill level, if you have been playing poker for a while & have a reasonable understanding of the game & if have the money to spend, deposit. Nothing wrong with free rolls, but if your game is good enough don't waste your time building from scratch.

I recommend against freerolls if you are looking to start a bankroll. It is a crap shoot. It will not encourage good poker play. You'll spend more hours trying to win a freeroll than you would if you deposited $50 and worked the few hours it would take to make the $50. Deposit $50, start with low stakes (0.01/0.02; $1 SNGs, Cheap MMTs). Whatever you want to focus us, pick that.

If you can afford, make a deposit and stay away from the freerolls.
1) Freerolls don't have much to do with Poker, you study the rules and apply them, but the others don't even know there are rules besides WOW, I have a pair, I MUST go all in. Flipping a coin three times gives you more probability to win ;)
2) You might play 2-3 hours and end up on the cloud with nothing.
3) As you're going to win anyway, you need to do a deposit first to withdraw. I don't want to reply to your claims they don't pay your 1000$ because you won them before your deposit or sth. like that.
4) MAKE YOUR MONEY WORTHY Instead of playing one 1$ Tournament, I'd rather play 5 SNG for 0,20 to win a 1$ Ticket.. Most of the times you'll get more than 1 Ticket in 5 tries.

Well i would suggest you start with a min deposit or even a standard size deposit of about 50-100 after this deposit you could work your way up from the smallest stakse and increase as your bankroll does, if not and you dont have 50-100 to donate you could try small field size freerolls, good luck

You can certainly enter a deposit, but I prefer to play freerolls

You can certainly enter a deposit, but I prefer to play freerolls. For example, card chat freerolls are a very good opportunity to earn a bankroll, I will certainly do my best to get access to these freerolls, unless of course the English language will allow me to do this. Good luck everyone

I mean for me I worked every night washing dishes pots pans etc and helping with starters at a restaurant, I still help out 2 nights per week on average.

Keep very good relations with the people you work(ed) with even if you quit for poker. You never know when you'll need a solid income or how good you'll really become.

I mean I also had all that 'birthday money' you get over the years, I was 21 when I began my training so that's 21 birthdays worth of presents from the odd aunt or grandparent (you may have bad relations with family, sorry if you do)... Saying that my grandfather is soon going to die and it makes me sad that he was the only one to smile when I told him about my ambitions in poker.

:( Anyways, get real cash don't just grind freerolls because this won't teach you the skills to grind cash games (which is where most beginners should play to get profit as tournaments involve more decision making and criteria to decide a fold, raise or call).
