I really would love to play some cash games.
Would like as sometimes - one just has a limited time to fill - some poker would be great - but not enough time for MTT or even STT

EVERY SINGLE TIME I try - (ok want to be honest almost every time - ie 70% of the time) something very similar to what you see below happens.

I understand it could be ONE, TWO, THREE times but so often - I can't get it.
True this time it is just one example - and this "session" was perhaps a bit (not a lot) shorter then other, but it is typical. Is there a forest I don't see from the trees?

These are all the hands in the session:

Looking at it now - I can clearly see - i did not bet enough
my opponent played exactly rite - given the opportunity I gave him

BUT

It feels so WRONG that the opponent happens to get the card he needs EVERY TIME - although he may have only a 30-20 whatever % chance to get it...

I am so discouraged

Oh oh... I meant!
Hang in there vegasjj! Cash game is different than tournament play. You'll always (or should always) be in deepstacked situations (p.s. buyin for 100bb & don't auto-post, wait to post in BB... also, use that time to check out the players on your table. I know it's only a few hands, but any bit will/can help. Plus, you won't be donating 1bb O.O.P. when you sit down on the table (< this can add up)).

Couple real general things > bet-sizing is different (typically) on cash tables because players will be deep, they'll have implied odds to stick around more.

If you haven't been already, follow some of the threads in Cash section on CC. It's no doubt the best section on the forum (at least for solid HH analysis). Couple/few of them can actually play the pokerzz.

okay, the post above says a lot of things, but let me reiterate some, and add a couple points perhaps:

- you really should buy in with at least 100bb when you play cash games. in your case, start with $5, not the completely random $4. also, especially when short-handed, do not post out of turn. there is no rush to play immediately, is there?
- if you want to make money in cash games, you need to raise preflop with your better hands (this is probably not applicable in the final hand, but definitely in the first)
- bet more when you have a good hand, like the final hand you posted. half pot may be giving him incorrect direct odds to draw, but add in the implied odds and it is a clear call there.
- in the micros (up to at least 25nl, perhaps as high at 100nl), fold more when people raise your bets, especially on the river. really. they have something close to the nuts every time.
- realize that a lot of the time, he would miss his draw and fold the river. in those cases, you never really take notice, do you? ;)

just posted all the hands I was at the table in the "session" - took 4 hands to get killed.

Hand 2 and 3 were obviously irrelevant - just to say - that is ALL I got to play. :(

Thanks for the advice - I understand - will dust myself off - and give it an other try, sometime in the near future.

Maybe I should go to smaller table - the problem is - I have trouble playing truly my best at .01/.02 - just a motivation issue i guess.

The other problem is - I am so "expecting" for bad things to happen - as they seem to always do - I think that becomes a magnet, as I am to shy(scared) to be properly aggressive, then I know - I have played way too timid, and I overcompensate... just can't find my footing.

:(

Hi vegas
Do you use a HUD - HEM or PT? Might be good to post some positional stats to get some help from the more experienced posters on possible leaks...
Wishing you lots of rungood!

I actually don't use any, perhaps I should invest....
Just feels like I will just spend more on cash games with no hope of recovery.

Start every hand with 100bb.
Don't post outside of the blinds.
Work on you bet sizing.
Learn to know when you're beat. Villain basically never raises with worse than your trips on that river. bet/folding is your friend.
