I read Super system 2 and felt it was outdated , I play only tournaments and SNGs and am thinking of trying cash games as have never played.

I have two questions

1) What stakes?

2) Why did you feel super system 2 is outdated?

I would start at the mirco stakes. I thought SS2 was a good read but did not cover the mathematics detail and is mainly aimed at live play??

Right, so essentially you are not sayings it is not outdated, but is not totally appropriate for online play and does not cover the maths. I dont know, I have never read it, but I just needed to understand your reasoning before offering an answer.

You know what, I think you would be better off finding a poker vid online specifically aimed at microstakes cash games. I have watched a few in the past (sorry cant remember the specific ones right now) and they have taught me, in an hours viewing, more than a book can (imo).

I would have a look at this though in the mean time, some great info.

thanks for the link man.

Also I read Phil Gordon's little green book and I must say it has helped me out with my cash games. I sucked bad at cash games but at mtt's and sit n go's I do really well. Since reading that book I have went from losing money to actually making a profit on the cash games.

I really liked Crushing the Microstakes by Blackrain79. Good book to get started.

John A. has a free e-book on here also that has some really good stuff in it. "Polished Poker Vol. 1".

+1, a superb book, it paid for itself in a day. And, after reading the book, I engaged Nathan for coaching, can recommend.

Additionally:

No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice by David Sklansky and Ed Miller - in fact, anything by Ed Miller, I have a few of his books which are more advanced, and a good progression from Blackrain79's book.

Best of luck.
