This is probably a really stupid question but i find myself thinking about it.

When you are quitting a cash game session, multi tabling should you wait until you are UTG on all the tables before leaving, so that you get the maxim "free" cards, at the expense of your hourly rate? It isn't much but the times that i am waiting to finish one table seems like an eternity and this time is essentially negatively affecting my overall hourly rate, correct?

What about the differences with Full Ring and 6 Max?

Thanks

Yeah... Seems to me it is most prudent/frugal play. As long as you don't let yourself get involved in a marginal situation so you can "play just this one more" and lose half your session gains chasing a flush or something. :)

Also how many times when doing this have we all accidentally payed a big blind and then justified another time on the button .. and then .. back to UTG and oops!! button and damn! it's 3:30am suddenly. :)

I paid for those cards, I never leave until I've seen 'em.

I will NOT let my wife see this post cAPS - she'll recognize the behavior and suggest that others have found a way to avoid it.

I do (usually) wait for UTG to click "sit out next hand" - but there have been MANY times when I've unclicked it before the hand's over.

I know it's not in their best interests, but it would be nice for the poker sites to have a button (not an un-checkable checkbox) that says "log out after next UTG". Regardless of what discipline I might (or, sometimes, might not) show with respect to playing my cards, I often lack discipline in quitting when I'm ought to be going to bed.

But what about it affecting your hourly rate?

I know it is very small, but each time you wait for just one table to fish adds to how long you play poker, and all those extra minutes add up and negatively affect your rate of income per hour, especially in relation to the fact that you are no longer multi tabling

Always wait to see out the round I`ve paid for.

I also will sit out until the blinds hit me when I join a game.

Hard enough to win as it is without giving away your money.

I usually only see thr cards when I am button and cutoff or so.. if I am really leaving and not stuck in a "just one more" loop. It's too easy to try to play crap from middle position with a "one more for the road" sort of mindset.

I agree wiith that second discipline as well. Small but important IMHO. Of course it's generally less important to the massive multitabler.

At this point, I'm not paying much attention to the table. I'm already updating my spreadsheet, and closing down software. I should already have a read on the players at the table, and since my last few hands will be out of position, I'm only playing strength. I don't really consider these last few hands time at the tables. All the hard work has already been done.

But, I've been dealt AA or KK numerous times on that "last hand", and not seeing hands you paid for is -EV, so unless I have to leave, I'm always staying until the BB.

Another point to keep in mind, at least on poker stars, is that you aren't guaranteed your awarded FPP for a hand until the next hand is dealt. So, I always sit out, then leave the table after the next hand is on the table. But, I'm cheap. :D
