How do you play this game? A new casino opened up pretty close to home, I'm a profitable online player but live in Arizona not so much. A couple of things going against me here.

1) Arizona laws don't allow no limit

2) new casino is only offering low stakes games as of right now

I have learned that you can not bluff in this game, seems to be mostly recreational players. So I'm thinking you must play extremely tight to turn a profit. This is just what I'm thinking/seeing so please correct me if I'm wrong. Any tips/strategy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Do they have pot limit? It seems like that wouldn't be too much different, although I haven't played it, so I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure I played NLHE at an indian casino in Arizona years ago, so maybe look for one of those

Yes, make sure that you read few threats, books or articles before you make transition from online to live. Different ball game :]

Ya I've noticed that, it's more or less the fact that it's limit and low limit at that, I generally do very well in no limit live when in Vegas but not well enough to quit the day job.

No there is no NLHE here maybe like a 1K spread I think think that's the highest legal limit in AZ if even that. And every Casino in AZ is an Indian casino.

I think depends on the rake they charge and if they have a bad beat jackpot if it is profitable. with a newly open casino their could be a lot of new players if there isnt a casino close by already.
Why I say a bad beat jackpot.. sometimes people just stay in the hand just becuase of the slim chance of hitting the jackpot.

What game are you playing? Is it limit holdem? Are the games really loose? If so I reccommend you read small stakes holdem by David Sklansky. It explains how to beat loose 3/6 games.

Ive seen a lot of analyses which pretty much say a casino raked game under 4/8 will be almost unbeatable because of the collection to the house.

NOW, if the games are insanely wild for awhile....you can make a profit, but those games tend to die out eventually as people bust/give up or whatever.
