Hi all, just a situation I was wondering if you could give me some insight into.

Say if you have TT/JJ, and you open the pot with a nice 4xBB raise, but someone else reraises you all in. Everyone else folds. Say also you are fairly certain that your opponent has two overs such as AK AQ, meaning you're about a 55-45 favourite.

Would you call if it were really early in a one table sng?

On one hand you are the mathematical favourite so if you fold here it is 'technically wrong' (Sklansky-will-frown-sorta-way). On the other it is so early on in the sng it seems somewhat inappropriate to be taking this sort of coinflip risk.

What do you guys think?

Cheers,
M:)

Hi,
I would go all in - In the end in this case it is all about statistics (Reading the opponent is out of the equation in this case), thus, the numbers are in your favor - So I would have called on almost all occasions - The only exception is if this is the bubble call - I HATE the bubble calls :)

early stages of a sng i fold. Your calling hoping that at best you are in a coin flip. Wait for a better spot

The key for me would be is it just a single table or multi table SNG? If it is a single table I like a call there. In larger SNG's you have the oppurtunity to see more hands. Also, it is early, and anytime is early you very well could have stumbled across the donkey with money being aggressive playing 72o.

The more i think about it......INSTA CALL.

If you are sure of your read, you absolutely call in that situation. If you lose, then you still played the math right, and therefore made the right decision. On the bubble, absolutely fold however. Not worth the risk

Eventhough it's early, I think you have to call, especially if it's a turbo. Yes, it's a coin flip but you can quickly become the table captain and virtually guarantee a cash. I think another factor is how much the buy-in was. If it's a low level SNG, all in no doubt. You can quickly buy into another assuming you have bankroll remaining. If it's a big dollar amount, then you might have to reconsider both the decision to call and the decision to play in a tournament your bankroll can't support.
