For first time I did give a more genuine try to cash game - specifically zoom.
I do play now and then a bit of cash - special occasion/promotions mostly but I am a MTT player. Lately doing real poorly, so want to give this a try. Also saw some posts by "speedexas" that increased my motivation. And Logan encouraged me :)

So today played my first "real" session. It was 1 hr 10 min long. One table NL2.
The good news is that I did not lose. The bad news is that after all that time I made a whole $1.30 - LOL :D

This is such a different game! I had some big hands played 257 hands) had 3x AA, 1 KK, 1 QQ - only one AA hand earned a little more then the blinds. On the other hand - my biggest win was really with a bluff against a guy that seemed super busy and had some crazy 100/100 stat (true only on 2 hands.
Of course the hand could have turned into a disaster too.

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.06, BB raises to $0.18, Hero calls $0.12

River: ($1.06, 2 players) 7
Hero bets $0.22, BB raises to $0.68, Hero raises to $1.70 and is all-in, fold

Hero wins $2.34
I also read at random a number of posts in the ****Thread of shame**** and it's bloody scary! .. Do I really want the cash game?

Just so confusing.. lol

My stats look pretty bad I think - not sure what is a good range for 6 seater zoom..??

zoom isn't for the faint of heart there's alot of bs! Volume is insane 6 tabling it though and i've been beating it for 4bb/100 over 88k for $100 profit and yeah your stats look a little out of line lol tighten up, i'm running 15/10 at zoom and that's me being a tad loose considering it's 2NL.

Thank you , nice to hear that. I advice you not to play higher than 20 VPIP , dont 3bet light , dont call checkraise in multiway pot with TPTK or overpair when youre out of position. Just play ABC and youll get the WR. Also use stat FOLD TO STEAL , if its 75 or higher you can steal with a wide range. When youll have more than 40 hands and see that villain is playing 15 or lower VPIP mark them as NITS. Thats about it for beginning , see ya at the tables.

Be ready for a lot of swings at zoom. The variance at this game can sometimes make you lose your mind and some other stuff like laptops, keyboards.:p
Try and manage your tilt the best you can.

Nice on you and 6 tables .. OMG how you do that? Great results! And yea - when I stopped to LOOK - I realized that my stats are downright scary... lol

GREAT ADVICE - really appreciate and will really try to use it all. It all sounds real good. Appreciate more then you know - that you are sharing it!
I cannot fathom how you do the volume you do! After one hour and a bit - I was ready for a break ON ONE TABLE! LOL :D

Yea I guess - have to manage tilt... as I said earlier I read a fair bit of hands in the https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/thread-shame-228081/
and WOW - shame or not - bad play or not - it CAN happen - and it can be BIG - real scary. Of course one might be at the wining end of the same...

I will give it an other try sometime today, will do my best to use the great quality advice I got from you guys - thanks again - AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

WOW I am excited - just have to share.

Played 40 minutes - and I just checked-out as I have a rule - good or bad - this is a rule I intend to keep for now when playing cash: If I get to triple the buy-in I cash out - and start again with lower BI.

Some real exciting things happened.

One - big mistake (bigest single hand loss yet) - and I knew it - the table talk pushed me in. the guy typed in "just fold man" as I was sitting there using extra time - trying to decide.

$1.30 on 257 hands is like 25bb/100 so should be more than happy:)

Glad you are trying and enjoying so far. Be prepared for such sick swings too but coming from MTTs should not be that bad for you on the swings part.

I use the same rule for cash, but not wait to triple up, if 2bleup or reach close to $5 i close the table and open up a new one, playing deep is different and prefeer to protect my wins.
(you can´t do this anymore on reg tables but on zoom is fine).

88 was a easy fold considering the Ace is there and people love to play Ax. Also, tip for zoom, when someone overshove river usually they have it.

Ak, i guess is fine, i don´t like to gamble because we are flipping vs any underpair but most people here will say is fine.

For tag people just right click on them and chose a color code, you don´t need much hands to see how they play.

Very GL:

Really? Cool, and thanks Logan! I have to say so far (did not play much really) but so far so good. I am up a total of $7.68 :D, it really is not much at all, BUT it did put back a smile on my face after brutal brutal MTT - for a very long time. But MTT is a wonderful game. And you are right I hope, I hope I can handle some swings. A bad thing is just one hand here, in MTT - it is your tourney life. (True one hand here can be horrible if you play big money - but I'm not there probably never will be)

I use the same rule for cash, but not wait to triple up, if 2bleup or reach close to $5 i close the table and open up a new one, playing deep is different and prefeer to protect my wins.
(you can´t do this anymore on reg tables but on zoom is fine).

I was really pretty sure that I will be told by most people that - that is a bad idea, that one should keep the roll growing at the table for a variety of reasons (show of strength, potential for bigger wins). But for me it is a "comfort" thing. I am not comfortable risking more then 3x the BI. I have done it before, it always ended badly, and if I get really involved with a hand, believe in it - I just won't stop, I am my own enemy. So best is to keep the roll at the table small for me. Really happy to hear that it is not an odd thing to do that :)

I missed to post the stats from my second session above, (I intended to) so here it is below. I'll be back playing some more - I guess I will post a bit less frequently - as it will get now real boring. :)

Keeping roll on table could be good for some reasons like you mention, but playing deep also mean game change too, people can open wider and call lighter because the implied odds of the big stack,
but this mean we should have a bigger edge postflop which i know i don´t have, so for me is better to not keep my roll big on the table, is really a personal thing how you feel play better.

Post any trouble hands you find.

From what i have seen when you have a big stack people fold more to your bets , also some regs giving the pots more easily as they think prolly that you are a good player. Also if you are able to lay down big hands in some situations your WR will thank you. Dont fall in love with overpair when you see counter aggression. this is what separates good players and breakeven ones.

I dont beat AA or QQ and when hes 2 barelling in 3bet pot and he has 9/8 VPIP hes not doin it with AKso so im splitting with KK but losing to all other hands and he probably doesnt have JJ as a NIT like that wont be doing it as a bluff in 3bet POT when i called the flop. So overall if you are able to make these kinda folds you will get the bigger WR , means you will deal with less swings. Good luck !

Yes that is why you are killing your WR. Dont fall in love with hands , If you have a big stack that doesnt mean you are a good player , prolly you run good.
Just fold more. I have an EGO leak which is very expensive as it really prevents me from having a crushing WR but im winning at a decent WR overall so whatever. (DID I REALLY WROTE THAT? OMG) OK i will give you a general TIP. If they are not from brazil , portugal or argentina FOLD to big bets OTR unless you have TOP TWO PAIR or better. REMEMBER!!!! The more you fold - THE HIGHER THE WR IS.

When CO raises river there he has you beat like forever :) Unless hes super aggro fish from brazil you have to lay it down there as they are not bluffing that much as you can see.

Good luck !

Makes total sense - not sure I have it in me to make the fold every time. Maybe I would with KK - as I totally hate KK - TOTALLY consider it my worst enemy, but in general - I would need to learn to control my curiosity EVERY TIME.

On a different note...
I am falling in love with the NL2 :D

When CO raises river there he has you beat like forever :) Unless hes super aggro fish from brazil you have to lay it down there as they are not bluffing that much as you can see.

I really did KNOW he got me - it is the lack of discipline on my part (something i have to work on), or is it just female curiosity - need of confirmation of a fact I know?.. lol Whatever it is - it can be expensive - so I hope if I play more often in cash game I LEARN - maybe... hopefully ...

As far as the bigger roll at the table - maybe some day I will know how to handle it. But just consider the above, and you can see - I am nowhere there at this time.

You are losing value there by flating the 3b with KK (@speedexas).

that 72 hand is really bad, please don´t do that.

Sice when youre losing value when only flatting with KK at NL2? Villain will cbet like 80 % of the time sol you will get at least 1 bet , also its oponent dependant to 3bet or not. if the guy has fold to 3bet around 80+ then you should call , if its like 30 you should 3bet and IMO CR any flop thats not A high.

And Vegas , PLUG that ASAP. 8A was really a douche hand.

This is amazing - I am up a total of $20-ish in 2 days playing a total of about 4 hours. Really never thought this possible on NL2.
It is not a lot - but it does add-up... now I can spend and lose on MTT

Going now to check what needs to be done for the soccer challenge, done with NL2 for today I think

Leaving on a real happy note :D

Great results so far, 10bi´s on 2 days (guessing than less than 2k hands?) is not sustainable though, keep that in mind.

Soccer challenge need to decide what team going to win, lose or tie, and you register on that tourney.

KK hand you are flating his 3b, so we can 4b but we can´t 3b, so his f3b is useless, if he is that tight then we should try to gii, his 3b range is different than his opens, so when he raise pre sure he could fold almost all except Ak/QQ+, but when he is 3bting is not folding those hands to 4b.

If you know someone 3b Ak/QQ+ and we have KK best line is to gii, why will want to flat and let him catch a Ace or queen on flop or turn?, he even can bluff you with QQ if Ace come on flop and 2ble barrel, or if have AK and Q come on flop like your hand, for him you could be flating with TT, JJ or worst so he could try to take you off, all that is avoided if gii pre.

Thanks :D This is the beginner's luck. It was just over 800 hands. here is a pic below. My stats are getting better still ways to go.

What would be a reasonable expectation of return?

Hmmmmm u dont know what to say :) leave zoom before u get adicted... Like i am... Now when i wait for bus, going to work i play zoom on phone :-(
On reg tables you relly can get better winrate... Much more variance on zoom...
I play it for something like 1 yr now and cant say i am rly happy with it...
I play ABC with 22/16 stats or similar,i dont play crap cards, but ive seen more bad beats than in any other format... Like AA vs 83s aipf... And much much more :)
I did play 2nl to 25nl and than tilted all away :)
