Is the triple barrel the holy grail of winning cash games? i dont mean this across the board in a practical sense because live 1/2 is absolutely beatable without doing sick bluffs.im talking more like online ring games and heads up cash. seems from my experience, doing ~3 triple barrels or ~3 double barrels for a profit of 40 bb per hand, can turn a losing session into a modest win.
these big pots won without showdown can be so helpful to of course balance your nutted hands which you will get paid of nicely on, and also to smooth out the pots where you get sucked out on.

It works, until it doesn't. The sort of thing you can get away with two or three times and then you get called....

If you bluff a lot you will get caught eventually and will lose way more that than your early bluffs success.

I think you really have to know your sizing's and be able to pull that all in trigger to tell your story properly if thats route you're going to take. I'm not so sure with online people folding to three barrels though; if they get any piece of the flop they are going to get sticky especially with top pair if they put you on Ajs+ or a low PP trying to protect equity. You would have to keep your vpip right at a cozy 22 for people to give your raises and barrels the respect and believability they need to apply pressure on non-believers

I think its less a function of bluffing and more of being aware of your table image and what you have done with strong hands in the past. At my live games people fold to me regularly for 1/4 pot size bets on the river because they think I always have it now, and its given me a very cheap price on bluffs.

Bluffing is an essential weapon in poker. Depends on who you are playing against and if you have position though.

Against calling stations bluffing is a surefire way to give away coins.

Unfortunately, a bluff of 3 barrels will be negative in the long term. So it can not be used often, but against passive players its use is justified.
