I guess a lot of people have it, as I am encountering more and more who seem to have a grasp on basic strategy. Is it a grasp of strategy or a HUD?
I still dont have a HUD, for a couple of reasons.
1. I use as my main PC windows 2000, and none of the software I have looked at - PT3, HEM and SnG wizard - support Windows 2K. (any tips here?)
2. My 2nd PC is a mac, but is the one I play on the least. Most software have Mac support - not SnG wizard but the other 2 - but money is tight, and I dont want to use the trial versions till its worth it i.e. when I can spend a lot of time playing on my Mac. I dont want my trial license to be used up with down time.
If not for problem 1 I would be using the trials to hopefully cut my losses/boost my wins to the point that I can spring for one.
I will start a thread on whether PT or HEM can help a mediocre player enough to pay for itself: Please look and comment. I guess General Poker Thread.
It definitely can. Just by seeing the
hands you lose on the most, or positions, you gain alot of insight.
I don't think you'd use trial days by tring it on your pc, I kept uninstalling/reinstalling it and it was always 60 days remaining. Anyways, you could try installing windows 2003 on that old pc, or even add some ram and maybe get windows 7 to work, disabling the aero interface.
But if it's an old slow PC no database will run smoothly I guess.
If you're serious about poker, you can sell your 2 pcs and buy a decent second hand one for 200 euros or less without a monitor for sure. Or go to a public library, internet cafe, whatever for a while. I'm sure you can work things out if you try
