I've never registered in a rebuy tournament until now. And I shocked. People goes all-in with nothing if they lose they rebuy and go all-in again. As I'm a tight player I wait until have good hands to play and didn't go all-in unless my hand was AA or KK. My stack reduce until I lost all for a donk.
How do you guys play a rebuy tournament? You wait good hands or go all-in with anything? How many rebuys do you do? What's the better strategy in this kind of tournament?

lots of different ways to play a rebuy, my personal favourite is to play tight, and not rebuy, and add-on at break. If you cash, that way you make a lot of money for your buy-in.
Yep, lots of all-inners at start, some like to double up early, some just do it to boost the prize fund!, etc.
GL anyway.

Yes rebuys are awesome. I like the $3.30R on stars. best part is they are donks and you can do more than triple up quick. like the dog said...add-on is really the way to go (if you need it). If you make it ITM? it's around 700th place and it pays around $20.00, not bad at all. And final table? usually around $7,000.00 hoooooo! weeeeee! thats what im talking about baby yeah!

I sure wouldn't call them awesome, but they can offer a great overlay.

There is a theory about the wacko's being hyper agro at the start. There will of course be the drunken bastards who are just wasting money, but amongst them are players who are purposely manipulating things (or so they think). They think they are really good and can induce others to play recklessly, and then toward the end of the rebuy period, end up with all the money they bought in with, plus a lot more.

Damn it. It seems to work.:( Whether or not they last long after the break is a different story. The table changes have prevented me from tracking very far just how well those players do.

I prefer the games where I do not get sucked in to that agro frenzy. In the 3 games I have made money in, I did not rebuy more than once, and did add-on, except the time I forgot to add on.

I tend to play a rebuy ~the same way as I play a freezeout, with a few minor exceptions.

I don't need quite as strong of a hand to showdown since most players are playing very loose.

I will take all close gambles whether I am the favorite or not.

I will bluff far less than usual until after the rebuy period is over.

A word of advice: ALWAYS rebuy to the full double stack in the beginning and if you take a beat, rebuy to the double amount again. The name of the game in a rebuy is BIG STACK POKER. If you are only buying in for a single and half of your table is buying a double, you are already at a disadvantage since you have to double up once just to get to where more than half of your opponents started with. Also, MAKE sure you leave yourself enough to add on at the end. As a general rule of thumb, I will only play a rebuy tourney if I have the equivalent of a minumum of 5 buyins in my account. And usually I will have much more. But at least two to buy in for at the beginning, two to rebuy in case I bust, and an addon. I won't rebuy if I bust twice. No exceptions.

Thank you all for the tips. I'll try to play tight and I'll rebuy to the full double stack in the beginning.
