re: Poker & tourney with rebuy
I tend to play a rebuy ~the same way as I play a freezeout, with a few minor exceptions.
I don't need quite as strong of a hand to showdown since most players are playing very loose.
I will take all close gambles whether I am the favorite or not.
I will bluff far less than usual until after the rebuy period is over.
A word of advice: ALWAYS rebuy to the full double stack in the beginning and if you take a beat, rebuy to the double amount again. The name of the game in a rebuy is BIG STACK POKER. If you are only buying in for a single and half of your table is buying a double, you are already at a disadvantage since you have to double up once just to get to where more than half of your opponents started with. Also, MAKE sure you leave yourself enough to add on at the end. As a general rule of thumb, I will only play a rebuy tourney if I have the equivalent of a minumum of 5 buyins in my account. And usually I will have much more. But at least two to buy in for at the beginning, two to rebuy in case I bust, and an addon. I won't rebuy if I bust twice. No exceptions.
