I'm sick and tired of just sitting down and winging tournaments. I always going out because of my impatience and stupidity.

I just started a 2 dollar MTT 6 men per table. There are 136 people in it. What strategy in general wud you use? Top 15 get paid. Whats would you do to get through the first hour, in the money, final table, etc...

Update: We all started with 1500 chips. I just gained up to 2300 with aces on a hand.

You pinpointed out your problem and if you don't work on these, then there will be no other advice that will help you.
Patience by far is one of the main ingredients to making it deep into any tourney, that and disipline(the ability to lay hands down when you know you may be beat)

I understand those are my problems. But which hands would you play in the first hour?

I always going out because of my impatience and stupidity.

I had that problem as well. Here's how I fixed it.
Step 1: Login to poker site.
Step 2: Play ring games instead.

I like that I can leave a ring game at any time. If I start to get punchy I just leave when the blinds come around to me. I also like the ability to pick where I sit.

I still play the occasional tournament, but only when I know I'm mentally prepared to sit down and grind for hours.
