There are many complexities to PLO. I would recommend searching for beginner strategy articles and playing with their recommendations until you get more experience.

Always use a Pot size bet for every bet so your opponents can't put you on a hand.

Thanks marginal that helps

He did post a stupid answer yes. Pot size bets are best. No one will put you on a hand. You can burn through your stack pretty quickly though if you're playing marginal hands.

Look for wraps, so like 789T or 689T etc etc type hands, double suited is always best obviously.

And its a cash game, so you can fold and fold and fold if you have to.
And if you're a decent PLO player, exploit it! Alot of the best PLO players are online, not so much live. Well, at my casino the PLO players are fairly soft anyway.

Just be patient, and play smart :)

Guys, you do realise non specific questions that are this generic will get generic non specific answers.

Its to broad of a question to even begin to give proper advise.

He didn't make it too non-specific. Table size, the fact that its live, and is a cash game is all mentioned. More then enoguh to justify a 1 word answer.

One of those things where if you have nothing good to say, then don't say it at all.

Basic advice is good enough for a basic question. But 1 word is not.
Not starting an argument, just saying... people aren't great at wording questions, least we can try and do is help them the very best we can with the information given.

some tips is play within your bankroll... you could lose roll on one hand if you pot limit.. if you are a gambler then go with double suited connectors, and if u play it pretty tight then starting hands of double aakk.. it s a fun game, but dangerous.. good luck and have fun

Are you serious about always straddling Maginal? I can never tell when your trolling or not. This is a legit question and I have not played much live PLO and am curious to learn a little more about it. If your serious why do you recommend that strategy?

So I play super deep PLO games and in live games the big mistake that fish make are that they play too loose preflop, as such you really want to put in a fair bit preflop to exploit this.

Additionally, it never hurts when you are better than everyone else to pump money in and you know, keep fish happy for you to be seen as being more of a gambler.

Flopping a flush is not the same as drawing to one. Not nut flushes are just bluff catchers.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but focus very heavily on position. By this, I mean: a) get in the habit of potting limpers when you have the button b) adjust accordingly -- either they're going to play fit/fold or they're going to x/r aggressively and put you to a decision c) attack the fit/fold guys like they're malfunctioning ATMs.

The inverse is also true. If you're going to play a hand OOP, avoid raising pre. The hand equity differences preflop are so small that I'd take position with ATC against a weak player versus OOP with premiums. If someone starts pounding on you from the button, limp/raise with premium hands until (hopefully) they start giving you cheap flops.

hey, for starters id def watch some youtube videos in introduction to omaha etc because as others have mentioned this game is very complex to just give everything at once..

but key factors

1. any 4 connectors are great, 5-k ex - 2345 great to 10jqk, double suited obv give you more outs to catch flush with it but be careful you'll never get the nut flush with these kind of hands you're looking for nut str8 or atleast middle str8.

2. its nice to play axxx if the a is suited, but depending on the hand your basically only chasing a flush draw, if you can get a 77 10 a -10 same suit thats good cuz you can catch str8 draw flush draw or hit a 7, perfect scenario obv is aa910 imo double suited because you can catch 2 str8s without having to use your ace, draw for an ace , either suit your aces are suited too, or jqk-678 or maybe a nice 10109 flop .. lol

3. ;position is great in any poker game but if your thinking about winning consistantly it will take a lot of practice, following basic strategy will help you turn profit in the begging and make the game fun but you'll have to figure out when people are bluffing just like any other poker game by feel if you dont have a great sense of feel just abc it with the hand chart i listed above and you'll make profit, but for ex you have aa10j and flop comes a26 2 diams u dont have diam draw, you pot guy calls, turn comes 10 non diam you pot again guy calls, position or no position you have to know if he is calling with 222 - 666 - or a diam draw, he is more then likely not going to draw a huge pot with 345 in his hand even tho iv seen it happen cuz all he has to have hit is any 3-4-5, is he putting you on trip aces? etc.. river comes a 3 non diam you pot or check and he pots or re pots you'll have to use feel in these situations and by knowing your player, is he a holdem player converting to plo or a regular, both have factors on if they are bluffing or not..

ex a regular can know you have trip a's and pot river thinking you are experienced and he thinks you will let ur trips go, this even helps if he has semi blockers like pocket 4s or 5s in his hand lessening the odds u have str8..

lot more then this practice with a practical mindset.

7 tips for playing in PLO.

7 tips for playing in PLO.
1. You need to play more when you are lucky, and less when a series of setbacks began.
2. Beat the rake. Even small limits allow you to earn a good income thanks to rakeback. But you will need to find options where the value of the rakeback will be at least 60%.
3. Watch more. With the growth in limits it is very important to learn how to evaluate your opponents, and the ability to concentrate as much as possible can give a huge advantage.
4. Against unknown players, use a tight style.
5. If you made a bet on one street - continue to attack. This is a quote from Ed Miller's book entitled One Percent.
6. You bluff a little if your opponents did not catch you on a bluff.
7. Do not try to knock out the opponent hands-monsters, and attack the mediocre ranges.
That's what I can advise you about the game of Omaha. Read these 7 tips carefully, I hope they will help you.
