Tips for a noob?

Hey guys I have been playing STT's and MTT Sngs for a while now and would like to test the waters at some low level NL cash games. My bankroll is about $200. I know basic poker strategy and I believe I am a pretty skilled player at SNG's just haven't really gotten into cash games for whatever reason. Any tips on how to transition from SNG's to cash games? Main differences between the two game types? Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated.

You should check out the golden archives, there is a lot of good info there. You question is a little to vauge to answer.

The main difference is that you will/should always be playin with 100bbs even if some others have less then a full stack and will you'll never have to play a push bot style.

There is a big difference between cash and tournaments. I started out playing tourneys all the time then transitioned to cash, big difference in playing. Just read articles , forums, and books. If you did good in tourneys , you should do good in cash, as long as you learn the diffence. In cash you can sit back and wait out the bad cards for a while then cash in on that big hand, especially if you have donks that like to call everything. But in tourneys, you pretty much have to accumulate chips fast in sng. So, just check out written articles and posts and you should do fine.

I forgot to add... should probs just start out at nl2 even though you're easily rolled for nl5. Try out some of the basic strategies and post some hands in the HA(hand analysis) section untill you feel like you've got a handle on things. Id also probs start with a Full Ring(9) game instead of 6 max unless you feel that you play well shorthanded. Good luck.

Well first of all "Noob" is spelled NEWB

Biggest transition is going to be adjusting to the larger stack sizes and smaller blinds. You will be seeing the turn and river frequently with more chips compared to a STT or MTT, which means more difficult post flop decisions.

Posting hands in the analysis section and studying sticky articles should help your game.
