Just a while ago i moved up to 10nl, 3 weeks or so. Today i achived 20.000 hands. my hands are tracked on 2 computers and are both in dollars and euro so i can not say exactly what my BB/100 is, but pokertableratings tracked my winnings in $ and over 19822 hands it says i won 188$ with 4.74BB/100.
Also in 600 hands tracked by ptr3 on my computers i have won another 30 euros. So i am not doing bad at all.

Also it might be important to say that i play 6 max and all the time I played as many tables as possible, 14 at least, 24 when possible, and most of the tables ware 20-50 BB deep because they are the most common ones.

Now, the point of my post is to ask you guys what would you have me do, move up? to 25nl or grind here some more and get da cash. i will also add that i have a bankroll of 400$ and if i move up i must play at least 4 tables, playing 1 table does not suit me at all so do not suggest it pls :D

Also i know 400$ is a small bankroll for 25nl but i could play those 20-50 BB deep tables and join for 10$ and that would give me 40 buyins.

The reason i am not doing the step without advice is because, from what i have been reading over the internet, 25nl is the place where people start to become tricky, so i am asking you: how big of a difference is between 10nl and 25nl, and should i gather more experience or i should give it a try.

Thank you!

I just made the move to 20NL (euro trash sites as you've seen.) and the play is not much different for me. most people suck and some people are decent. running at 15bb\100 over first 5k hands, lets hope it continues :D.
your BR is a bit low in my opinion, i made the move with about 500 and I was pleased with the results.
I dont know how you play and some stats would be useful to locate a few leaks that might hurt your game.

14 to 24 tables I find it hard to beleive you are playing that many tables at a time manually. How do you manage that. I have only been able to get about 4 at a time going before I start getting a little goofy.

i use a HUD, play proper ABC poker, raise decent hands in position and act fast. i have been doing it for a while and for some reason i always like it, and i don't understand how people can play 1 table at once, rather boring, i need action.

Not much of a cash game player, so the only advice I would give you is to wait for your BR to become a little bit healthier. That being said I too am pretty amazed at the number of tables you are playing.

I guess I could imagine playing ABC on 12 tables (not me personally), but as many as 24 has got to be mind boggling :confused:. This is very impressive if you are making money on 24 tables.

Depends a bit on the site you're playing on imo. I'd suggest playing deepstacked poker before moving up.

i play on pokerstars. i played the 40-100 BB deep and the 100-250 BB deep but they are very rare to find, some days i can not even get 1 of these tables to be decent, meaning they play very tight so it a waste of time.

stop playing in pokersrars
move to a smaller site
get a rake back deal
learn to play 100bb deep
Profit!

I also play on PS and frequent the 40-100bb 10NL tables. Yesterday I tried the 20-50bb tables but found all the all-ins from $2 short stackers rather annoying and felt ill equipt to adjust when 6 tabling.

Today I thought I would give the 100-250bb tables a go and they do suit my style though in contrast, you can really wait a long time for some action!
That ante thing confused me too! I guess its there to keep people playing when the blinds are so low compared to the average stack size.

I did figure that an extra bb was useful to add to my pre-flop raise. If your standard raise is only to 40c but there is already 33c dead money in the pot, you do tend to price in more callers!

One thing that I have found can make a big difference is the time that you play. Its a LOT easier to find a soft table at peak hours. Annoyingly times when my focus and attention are at their peak (2 hours daily when I can be alone when I get up early to play before work) just happens to be when there are barely 80k people online. every table is full of the same regs swapping blinds back and forth. 10% of tables have >20% players seeing the flop for maximum 10-15 minutes! Idiots are few and far between.

12-13 hours later when I return from work mentaly and physically tired, the house is full so there is no chance of peace... spouse wants to "talk" etc!
Low and behold we have 250-300k people online, idiots stacking off with J3o and table coaches arguing and trash-talking everywhere!

ALSO:

Even as someone who is a fair way from being consistantly profitable at 10NL I would also strongly suggest that you wait. Its a BIG jump in stakes and bet sizes to 25NL. Even if you KNEW you were profitable to the tune of 4.7BB/100 at 10NL (which you don't until the sample is decently 30-50k) I doubt your winrate at 25NL would be enough to allow you to maintain a confident game. At 4.7BB/100 you are enjoying yourself and seeing a steadily increasing bankroll. Throwing money away through tilt probably isn't an issue.

When the rake gets you and you are struggling to find 1-2BB/100. Those bad beats are gonna affect your emotional state a whole lot more.

There is a LOT more money for you to make at 10NL before you hit your ceiling... I'd say atleast 50% more.

When I reach your level I hope to have learned from the mistakes I made moving from 5NL-10NL too quickly.
To have the sence to commit to not moving up to 25NL until I have $750 and make >7BB/100 over 50k hands but as ever in life, taking your own advice is never easy!

FWIW $400 is when I allow myself to START playing 10NL, and I need $1000 to play 25NL.

I need a minimum of 40 buyins, and if I drop to 30 I move back down.

I can't stress how important bankroll management is.

Start to drift away from your preset limits and you risk losing your mind.

I'm starting over again this week.

In the early stages I find it's easier to make money playing the $2 SNG's than the micro stakes cash tables.
