Hello! I just want to share my point of view with those who started or thinking about cash games. As for me, I more MTT player then cash, but sometimes I gonna play and some times I gonna be profit =)

I will be discussed about NL-2

1. I open 6+ tables. It takes me play more tight and more interest. It necessarily to put tables in comfortable position to see all opponents and their moves.

2. For 1 little session I play 800+ hands and make paused. It necessarily to get up from a chair and keep walking.

3. Fast change BAD tables during playing. It necessarily to replace the failed table (If you lose a lot or something near).

4. Always doing tables re-buying. If you lose, you should put max money to keep playing (in our case it is 2$).

So, share yours views about how make CASH games more profitable at the NL-2!!!

I have just started playing on a few cash games, just out of curiosity, because my BR is not sufficient to be risking it playing cash games.

Ok, so now you know I know nothing, and I know I know nothing, but I would like to share one thing.

When I sit at a NL-2 cash table I have been checking at least 20 hands and watching how everyone else is playing.

If there is someone who is playing too aggressive for me, someone who keeps betting really big and making others fold again and again, and they raise too many preflops, then I just leave and find another table. I still have to learn how to handle aggressive players and I would rather practice that in a tournament than a cash game.

Also if someone keeps winning hand after hand, like if they keep calling raises until the river and keep getting lucky on the river again and again, then I just leave also, especially if when I see their cards after the river and think to myself 'why the hell did they call a raise to begin with? They had nothing until the turn.' they are just having way too much luck, so I'll move to another table until I find a table of players I feel comfortable playing against.

I agree with the sentiment of point three, but imo your reasoning is wrong (or perhaps just not communicated clearly).

You should not leave a table just because you have lost a few buy ins, you should leave if you are getting outplayed by better poker players. If you are getting sucked out on by bad players who make bad decisions this isnt a reason to move. In the long term solid fundamental poker wins at 2nl and as long as you make the correct decisions, it doesnt matter which way the money moves in the short term.

Oh yeah? You really think so? Maybe you're a pro cash gambler, ahaha
Better watch your side, not mine.
Bad players who call bets and raises until showdown without having a clue of how poor their odds are each time - these are the fish you want to play against!

Just because they just won 7-8 big pots in a row by runner-runnering a straight or flush, doesn't mean that they'll be as lucky in the next hand. I will happily sit on their left, iso-raise them and value-bet them busto.
You WANT to play with these guys - they're more profitable for you than any other opponents!!!

I have to strongly agree with what @TimovieMan wrote above, you have to realize that your winnings comes from a guy who makes a poor decisions over and over against you, it doesnt matter if he gets lucky now or then, you wanna glue yourself to him, you dont wanna switch tables cuz like more when reg take your money by overplaying you, poker is no game of ego, it is a game of beating the weaker, think of it as taking a someones lunch money, would you switch to bully a bully cuz weakling escaped few times, im sorry for making such bad reference but it definitely looks like that...

It is definitely hard to overcome the bitter feeling of getting beat by the fish but IMHO when you realize that you should stick them instead of guys whose plays you like more is when you start profit a lot, that is the real point of table select, picking a easier field to beat not picking a better play pool to give a shot at...

@ OP Patience means a lot at poker, as you said, one of the meaning of being patient is picking your battles and picking your enemy...
