My friend and i had an interesting argument about aces in plo.
In the course of watching me play a few hands i got dealt AAJ9 in mid position it was limped to me and i potted it the player directly after me pots again one of the limpers calls and so do i. My friend thinks that i should have three bet to try and force one of them out. I argue that at that point my hand isnt strong enough warrant a raise if we where heads up i would have just commited pre but we all had 100+bb and i wanted to be able to fold on a bad flop.....What do you think is my strategy sound or do i need to rethink???

Whats your stack size? I assume 4betting would get ~40% of your stack in the middle preflop which is fine to be +EV. So yeah, raise

Hahaha same... at the micro stakes you can seriously just make a living limping in every hand with the nuts flush draw/ pocket pairs and then value betting against fish who call you down with nothing.

Just dont get involved in pots with the regs and recreational plo is great fun -_-

You should flat with crappy aces (AA92 no suits) and reraise with any sort of decent aces (AAJ9 single or double suited, AAKK, etc, etc). The more you can get in preflop in PLO the lower the SPR (stack to pot ratio) will be on the flop. If you can get the SPR down to ~1-1.3 then you can shove the flop and it's a +ev no matter the result or outcome.

You need a bigger BR than you would in hold'em due to the higher amount of variance associated with the game. I personally recommend at least 45 for a limit and myself use a 80 BI rule for PLO.

200 BIs for PLO, 100-150 BI downswings happen all the time.
