If you're playing AKo four-handed to the flop, getting all-in when you flop a pair is going to lead to a bad time.

I'm not saying I never call here, instead of raising (which is better). But, if I call and end up 4-way, a single pair is not something I am looking to get all-in with.

I have to say that since I started 3-betting AK (on advice of WVHillbilly) I like how it is going (mostly 5NL but also some 2NL).

It helps with a bit more aggro image and clears out some of the riffraff (although pocket pairs often call 3-bets, even coldcall them). Helps out when you do hit a TPTK type of hand.

In 2NL I think this type of hand is unavoidable and often profitable, sometimes he has a set but a lot of time you will see some kind of draw or a pair of eights with a FD and in case of maniacs often a pocket pair.

Raise preflop big to isolate the all in and pick up free equity. Get stacked on the flop and move on. Any other play is -EV. Button's raise preflop generally eliminates every hand that beats us and leaves him tons of AJ, AQ, flush draws, etc.

Yeah I would raise pre-flop too. Make it .30 or something. If he still calls, you can't do much with the way this hand played out.

Cheers the advice I'll start 3betting these hands more.

Out of interest if I had of 3bet and then villain 4bets or shoves would it be a fold or call in your opinion. villains stats after about 100 hands were around vpp30, aggression 50, not 3bet any hands so far.

The higher the % the better chances you have to win flips... but ofc some people might be in everyhand... but only shove when they have AA...

That's why it's so important to keep notice on what everyones doing.
