Find a better table or stay put and make the one you are at better?

Ok so I log into PS and find four nice loose tables with good pot sizes that suit my generally aggressive but careful play. I sit down and off I go.
Thing is, within 10 minutes I notice my table has plummeted down the lobby list and has tightened up. I go looking for more loose tables. Damn it sometimes seems like I spend as much time looking for good tables as I do playing on them! Is this normal and the way its suppose to be?

So I get to thinking, I play a table and I play tight. I take down some pots and outplay (hopefully) a few people and the table tightens up. I know that if I wait long enough people will start to leave and be replaced with fresh meat but this doesn't always happen.

Isn't it true that loose play loosens up the table?

If I can find a way to gradually loosen up my game without anyone really noticing I guess I can start to take down more small pots. obviously I dont want to increase bet sizes or draw attention to myself too quickly but if I can get the balance right is it possible to make my table ripe and juicy again?

Then I can switch back to tight play and get called down a bit more.

What do you guys think?

I play about 14/13. would you suggest I double the amount of starting hands for this loose period? I don't want to change my pre-flop bet sizes as this might give the game away. Obviously post flop play will be tricky and I will have to take care with the C-bets.

Is it possible (and if so what's the best way) to really shake a table up and get everyone loose or even tilty?

Is this a viable solution or is it best to just chase loose tables hopping around from game to game?

Usually a fish will just sit at any random table. A "reg", or decent player will be on the lookout for the fish constantly, and the best way to find one is to find a table with lots of players seeing flops and generally a higher than average pot size. So you will find that the reg's will be on the waiting lists almost instantly.

Most have table selection software to do this for them.

And this happens at 10NL?

I guess this is still microstakes but idiots do seem harder to find and there are some scarily good (to me) aggressive players.

Is it really worth joinng those queues? if I see waiting list of five players I just think whats the point. I would be joining a long list behind other people that are obviously good enough to know something about table selection and by the time I sit the table will have already been raped and will probably be getting screwed down and tight!

I guess its somewhat of a paradox.

Do you think there is logic in staying at one table if you are good enough to play a LAGGY yet solid that loosens up and tilts everyone else at the table?

If your gonna play laggier then raise smaller preflop so your c bet can be smaller and probs lower your c bet%. I wouldnt dbl the amount you raise, maybe a 1/3. Position will be your best friend if you want to loosen up.

As far as finding good tables... i think you got the basics down, but if you play a lot of the same people I would color code them so when you search for tables you can get a good idea of whos all sitting there without having to open up the tables.

The aggressive players at 10nl are not good. That you can apparently read and write is probably more than most of them can manage. There are some thinking TAGs but LAGs who aren't completely horrible... I haven't seen any.

Yes, long waiting lists are usually full of regs trying to get a seat. You'll be at a table with some regs when you do get a seat. You can still avoid the longest waiting lists and go for the next best tables with shorter waiting lists if you'd prefer.

Don't play LAG with the intention of tilting people, it's a really fast way to lose money.
imo, just play however you play best and don't try to change the way the table is playing. If the game isn't good, look for another table.

Responses in bold.

change it up

I think the better players know how to change up there play at a table. The best way to deal with table action changing is to switch your play. Watching the pros on TV you see them changing their playing style quite often. Maybe instead of consstantly changing tables, mix up your play and keep your opponents guesing. Find a way to take their chips. One can learn alot by doing this and it can become a challenge worth taking. lol

speakin of playin LAGS....

I played this guy tonight. Ive never played a guy this loose before.

Stats are VPIP/PFR/3-bet/C-bet/F to C-bet/AF%/ATS/FTS/# of hands.

Crazy LAG

Stacked him 4 times and won them all. He reloaded so many times. He was the only reason I stayed at the table.

End hijack...

Another idea is to start a new table and let them come to you. This tends to work well during peak times obv. Plus, you have to be willing to play short handed for awhile as the table fills up. I've found "generally" you'll have weaker players filling up new tables since they just want to sit and play.
