It's not much good simply throwing cash into the pot, you have to think what's happening around you. There's $100 in the pot in a $20/$10 game. There are three left in the pot, you and two others, the flop goes down and you have trips, but there are two suited cards on the board. The two villains both check.
How much do you bet?
There could be two possible flushes against you, so a $20 bet is worse than useless, it gives both villains too favorable pot odds and they will call, You need a bet that will drive them out, one that gives them poor pot odds. A $50 and up bet is needed, (the higher the better), but I would shy away from going all in.
