this hand was against an unknown so its pretty much spew (he did shove with T9s though) but I was just thinking about the thought process behind it.

against regs can we raise in these spots to get flatted by worse? don't know if I've got the wording right but it'd b close to merging postflop where we're supposed to have a polarised range to get called by worse.

this one might be a bit thin since he can have a lot of overpairs in his range, but say AQs on Q8x boards BTN vs Blinds for example?

or are we just widening our polarised value range with TPTK etc..

this probably applies to higher limits, just thinking ahead-ish.

Generally speaking its too thin at micros vs regs IMO.

"Merging", "widening your value range", whatever. When you've beat up on someone and they now both 3bet really wide and stack really light vs you, so you widen the range you raise/GII with on the flop.

AQs example is much more standard - Qxx boards tend to be where 99-JJ get stubborn, and if they get sloppy and start 3betting QT-QK then naturally there's more in there to get value from. 99-JJ tends to be in the average player's 3bet range whereas (re: your hand), people tend not to have 78s or 77 or A6s in there.

Do it if there's room in his range, basically.

Is flatting the 3 bet not a bit light? Especially against an unknown?

yeah, definitely light. Even vs the 2x-4x 3bet, it's light as hell, and makes postflop even thinner.

might elaborate more tomorrow cause busy atm (sneaking on here hoping gf doenst catch me)

anyways could be a really neat play with a read on his 3betting range, although probs bad without that.

don't think its super light defend either but you can all argue about that yourselves

Why the min raise?

As played, I think all the range polarization or range merging is lost on villain. All he sees is top pair... and maybe he is using a two color deck and thought he had two spades... Tag him and find him again for easy $ next time.
