What is this person thinking? In the vain hope that he raised with some garbage in out of position and would fold to a push?

Surely a 3bet would of been enough to get him of the hand? Anyone know why this was shoved? Just random and not expecting a call?

I'm unsure if this is because it's Elky or something I'm unsure but I've watched several hands in the past 25mins with different people as well on these stakes and cap tables and the play seems so bad..It seems push/fold mode and stack of with your 20bb's on one pair or even Ace high etc..

The majority is all stacking, it seems like a micro level game which I'm used to seeing. A bet then re-raise all-in sort of game. I watch different limits 100nl + and it didn't seem the same so would enjoy watching good players playing poker and something I'd love to play one day. People woulden't stack of so often as they do at micros, infact very little compared to micros at mid/high stakes. They know a beaten hand and know if their one pair or two pair, even trips are no good and fold!

I then watched this cap game at 500nl and saw this, is this the sort of thing I can expect to happen at all levels with cap games?

In fact it very much reminds me of last 3/4 in a tournament and blinds catching so shove with A,x and so on.. This sort of play consistently can't be profitable, even for high stake good players, or can it? I mean anyone (most fish players tend to play like this) can shove with A,x in the BB or other random marginal hands..and I'm sure as hell they woulden't last long with their BR playing like that! It just doesn't make any sense to me!

The basic concept I've seen from these cap games are this.

Fold,Fold,Raise,Fold with lots of blind steals over and over. Then after so many hands it's Raise, Re-raise, push, all-in, gg stacked. Not much postflop play from what I've seen, or I've picked a really bad time to watch some high stake players lol.

in cap games, it is like a table of shortstacks that never get deeper. there is no post flop play because there are no stacks to allow that. when you have 20BB, that is AT MOST 3 streets of betting, and most often just 1 or 2. high cards rule in such a format, and this is why you see Ax being pushed so much. it is still possible to have an advantage in those games, but it will always be mostly a place where you either hope to hit and double up or fold preflop :)

simply ignore cap games if you want to see people actually play poker.

If you want to understand why cash player hate SSs so much, look no further than cap games.

Doesnt take much skill to shove your 20bb and not have to play postflop does it?

I thought I saw a message on Pokerstars that they are changing the minimum buy-in amts for NLHE to eliminate short stackers.

Did I hallucinate or does someone know anything about this?
